Reading Update
Bound Forever (Bound #3) by Ava March. ebook. Very good kinky historical m/m romance in which Vincent and Oliver need to work out some issues of trust and respect if they hope to have a future together.
The Duty of a Beta (Pack Discipline #3) by Kim Dare. ebook. Very good kinky paranormal m/m romance about a beta wolf who was brought into the pack to be mated to a troublemaking gamma, but who finds himself drawn to the omega…
With Love (With or Without, Book 1) by J.L. Langley. ebook short. reread. Well done m/m paranormal romance about werewolves, set in North Carolina. (It doesn’t feel like it fits as part of the series, however.)
Without Reservations (With or Without, Book 2) by J.L. Langley. ebook. reread. Very good m/m paranormal werewolf romance about a straight vet (and werewolf) who realizes that the injured male wolf brought in to his office is actually a werewolf… and his mate.
With Caution (With or Without, Book 3) by J.L. Langley. ebook. reread. Very good kinky paranormal m/m romance about a guy who was recently transformed into a werewolf to save his life. He’s a little freaked out to discover that he has a mate and his mate is male, but is absolutely terrified that his homophobic, abusive father will find out and hurt his younger brother (who still lives at home) as a result.
A Sterling New Year (With or Without, Book 3.1) by J.L. Langley. free ebook short. Very good short paranormal m/m romance in which Sterling shows up with a friend at Rhys’s door just after the New Year starts.
A Lot To Be Thankful For (With or Without, Book 3.2) by J.L. Langlely. free ebook short. Very good short paranormal m/m romance about Rhys arriving home from work the evening before Thanksgiving to discover Sterling waiting.
Not My Wolf (Fenrir Wolves, Book 1) by Eden Cole. ebook short. Blame it on Tam’s review at Brief Encounters. πŸ™‚ Good short paranormal m/m romance about a straight alpha werewolf who’s been dreaming that he’ll meet his mate soon, but is so not prepared for his mate to be male.
Treasured by Cari Z. ebook. Good paranormal m/m romance about a grad student in magic who works at a museum and is surprised to be wooed by a mysterious shifter he runs into at the museum.
My True Love Sent to Me (Cambridge Fellows Mysteries, Book 4.5) by Charlie Cochrane. free ebook short. Good short holiday m/m romance about Jonty feeling taken for granted and Orlando realizing Jonty’s right.
Lessons in Seduction (Cambridge Fellows Mysteries, Book 6) by Charlie Cochrane. ebook. Very good historical m/m mystery/romance, in which Orlando, Jonty, and Jonty’s father look into the death of the king’s former mistress.
Lessons in Trust (Cambridge Fellows Mysteries, Book 7) by Charlie Cochrane. ebook. Very good historical m/m mystery/romance, in which Orlando discovers that most of what he believed about his family isn’t true – a discovery that leaves him feeling very lost.
Once We Won Matches (Cambridge Fellows Mysteries, Book 7.5) by Charlie Cochrane. free ebook short. Good, albeit brief, historical m/m mystery that takes place behind-the-scenes at a cricket match between England and Australia.
All Lessons Learned (Cambridge Fellows Mysteries, Book 8 ) by Charlie Cochrane. ebook. Excellent historical m/m mystery/romance that takes place ten years after the seventh book, after the Great War. I cried quite a bit during this one, which I’m pretty sure is the last book. But rest assured that there’s a happy ending, copious tears notwithstanding.
Between the Pipes (Blue Line Hockey #2) by Stephani Hecht. ebook. Good m/m romance about another of the battling hockey brothers of Battle Creek. He doesn’t want to date a cop because of a dark family secret or two, but he just can’t help himself. I wanted this to be a bit longer, because an awful lot of things were included for a story of this length.
Ivory by J. Rocci. ebook short. Good short m/m romance about an oncologist who’s been trying to be the person his family expects him to be, even though it’s killing him.
Beneath the Shield by Diana DeRicci. ebook. Good m/m romance about a cop, filled with self-loathing for the one he couldn’t save, who doesn’t get involved with anyone and stays beneath his emotional shield. Then a guy gets pushed into him at a club… could that be the first crack in the shield? (Although a guy punching himself in the groin hard enough to drop himself to the floor seemed damned unlikely to me, no matter how much self-loathing was involved.)
Acquired Taste (Icing on the Cake #2) by Shayla Kersten. free ebook short. Good short kinky m/m scene that takes place about three months after Icing on the Cake, when things aren’t looking so good for Ollie and Jeff.
Driving Me Crazy by L.M. Brown. ebook short. Ok short m/m romance about a guy who keeps failing his driving test so that he can keep spending time with his driving instructor.
A Good Bargain by D.C. Juris. ebook short. Ok short m/m encounter between a man (who hasn’t been with another man in nearly 20 years) and a much younger guy.

  1. I actually had a mini rant with me, myself and I about e-book pricing the other week. I bought an e-book for the price of 6.99 dollars and got a 145 page book for it. I always thought – silly me – that category or novella length stories would be priced cheaper. I agree with the author of the post that around 5 dollars is a good price for an e-book. 6.99/7.99 … it so hurts the CC and when I get a 150 page story, yeah I kinda feel cheated πŸ™

And on e-book piracy *sigh* I can still remember I bought loads of music in my early teens (late 80’s) but I also sat next to my radio/cassette deck player and listening to the top 40, recording all the songs I loved on tape. I guess you could say that was piracy as well. Har, har πŸ˜‰

PS; Black cats aren’t evil…aaahhhh finaly the universal truth is out there *grin*

  2. I love linkity. I’m thinking that the ink truck is photoshopped though. And the ice castle dude is StUPID! Geez, who builds and Ice castle next to his home. Um, dude, spring melt’s gonna fuck with your basement.

  3. The question is WHY would I make my kid wear a dinosaur tail?

I don’t think I could eat pudding that brightly coloured. It just seems wrong.

Damn you. I want cake now, or a red velvet donut.

Some uber-sugary cereal there but waffle-o’s have potential.

Those stupid warning labels always amuse me. You wonder how humans have survived so long. Or I suppose only the smart ones have.

Haven’t read the first two as I don’t follow those series but don’t blame me for the wolf. LOL You are on a shifter kick and who doesn’t adore the With/Without series. Le sigh. I really should read the rest of the Charlie Cochrane books. I think I keep saying that.

Please tell me there’s not girl involved in the Kersten book and it’s just a multi-cover.

I looked at the De Ricci one but wasn’t sure. Hmmm. Now maybe, save for that one thing you mentioned. Umm. Ouch?

  4. Hey!

How are you Chris? Enjoyed linkity – Kassa’s post about review ratings was well said. πŸ™‚

    The cereal boxes? Yikes!

That car made of Play-Doh car – wow!

The clocks go forward an hour here this weekend Chris – a sign of spring?

  5. I’ve got several tabs open & waiting for inspection – I’m a little concerned about the idea I shouldn’t do email first thing in the morning… it’s really all my brain can handle until the coffee kicks in! So much for ADHD….

  6. Especially love the e-book links. The quality and pricing contributing to piracy one I totally can relate to. DH and I were just discussing that they really need to price more like a “rental” because that is really what it is when we can’t re-sell to used bookstores, giveaway or lend out to friends indefinitely.

That said, mom is taking the leap in the next couple months and I think it will really change her reading experience – especially for non-ficiton stuff where non-linearity is often most useful. Try cooking from a cookbook on tape!

  7. If being able to hold your pee for a long time leads to making better decisions, I’m straight up screwed. Just sayin.

LOVE the pirate bedroom. My kids are going to be so jealous! Hell, I’m jealous – it’s amazing! Love the lego cookies and the lego doorstop – I think I’m going to make both! The yarn reef was fantastic, too.

More than a little bummed about the asthma/celiac connection. Sigh…

    Awesome linkity, today! πŸ™‚

  8. LOL That Sassy Gay Friend is both funny and annoying.
8,000 gallons of spilled ink… pretty but I’d hate to have to clean up the mess.
Isn’t it a bit too cold to be outside playing with ice?
    Loved the phonebooth aquarium.
    Creepiest phone EVER!

I read and enjoyed the With and Without books and preordered the new one. Looking forward to reading it.
I’ve also read Treasured, it was okay, and Acquired Taste which was nice but too short.

  9. Sparkly smells so good! πŸ™‚

Of course, I checked out the make your own pop-tarts, but isn’t a healthy pop-tart an anti-pop-tart? The whole point is for them to be unhealthy and bad for you yet so very yummy you can’t resist the sugary goodness.

  10. It took some clicking but the Stunningly Dumb Warning Labels were a hoot.
And yeah, I knew black cats aren’t evil, but… misunderstood ninjas… never crossed my mine, lol.

The ebookpricing links were interesting. I think the DRM ticks me even more off than high prices…

You had a great reading week. The free Shayla Kersten story was a nice treat, wasn’t it?

I see I still have a few giveaways to enter here. πŸ™‚

  11. LOL at the Cookity header! I’ve never figured out why people actually eat Pop Tarts, hopefully the homemade ones are better. Although I used to have a ferret that liked them.

I’m really impressed by the crocheted coral reef. The rainbow pudding looks fun too. The brain bulbs are cool. I love those baby otter paws.
