Don’t forget to leave a comment on the contest post before 7 pm CDT, Monday, August 24, for your chance to win a copy of Rita Herron’s paranormal romance, Dark Hunger! (And hey, you can download the ebook of Herron’s paranormal romance Insatiable Desire for $1.99 this month.)
Crap. Apparently this is post #1000. Um… rah?! 😉 I know I should throw a party, but I think that’s going to have to wait until after the work craziness winds down. Anyway, many thanks to all of you for making the past nearly four years so enjoyable and interesting. The small, near-daily acts of creativity that blogging requires (taking photos, editing photos, captioning photos, writing posts) have been good for me. And getting to know all of you – through my blog, through your blogs, through email exchanges, through face-to-face meetings – that has been the very best thing of all. So, again – thank you.
Ok, enough mushy stuff. Onward! 🙂
Anna’s giving away a lovely hanging bookcase – leave a comment by August 26 for your chance to win.
Donna (Fantasy Dreamer) is giving away two books from Jeanne Stein’s Anna Srong Vampire Chronicles. Leave a comment by August 25 for your chance to win.
Author Kelly Moran’s giving away five copies of Karen Rose’s new romantic suspense, I Can See You. Leave a comment for your chance to win.
Lea explains what exactly The Great Western Drive is and includes a link to a related contest. Hmm. The closest I’ve gotten to reading any Western romances is the sort of cowboyesque Love at First Bite vampire series by Kimberly Raye. Not sure that really counts! 😉
Book Junkie has links to more, more, more book contests!
Hee hee – several people have pointed out that this seems perfectly Chaos. It does indeed!
Awww, look at the cute little black kitty…
Hmm. An artist who works with the fur of her black kitties. Creative use of cat hair, I must say!
Looking for a good, inexpensive book light? J. Kaye has a review of one she liked.
Minnesota publishers talk about ebooks.
I Spy Something Bloody, The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks, The Adrien English Mysteries, Books 1-2 (Fatal Shadows & A Dangerous Thing), The Hell You Say, and Death of a Pirate King (Adrien English Mysteries, Books 3-4) by Josh Lanyon. ebooks. More excellent mystery and romantic suspense from m/m author Josh Lanyon. I really can’t say enough good about the Adrien English series. I devoured the books, and yet had to put them aside periodically because of how emotionally invested and worried I got about Adrien English. It’s been a while since I spent so much time (outside of reading the book) thinking about a character and caring so much about what happened. Highly recommended. (And check out Elisa Rolle’s feature on Josh Lanyon!)
Partners in Crime 4: The Art of Dying by Josh Lanyon and Jordan Castillo Price. This ebook contains suspenseful, non-series m/m stories from the always excellent Lanyon and Price.
Bring the Heat and Out of My Mind by M.L. Rhodes. ebooks. Well-done and steamy m/m romance, with excellent covers. 😉
Double Play by Jill Shalvis. Contemporary romance about a major league baseball pitcher and a reporter who’s supposed to find out dark secrets about the team. Shalvis definitely knows how to write a solid and enjoyable story and I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.
How To Tame a Modern Rogue by Diana Holquist. Kudos to Diana Holquist for her absolutely delightful contemporary and Regency romance mash-up! Highly recommended.
Skin Deep (Laura Blackstone, Book 1) by Mark Del Franco. Very well-done urban fantasy set in the same world as Del Franco’s Connor Grey series – I’ll definitely continue to read this series. (But I still prefer the Connor Grey series!)
Many thanks to Jeanne for “squirrelizing” this picture for me:
“Dang, he looks tasty, but he’s as big as I am!” -Chaos
“Who are all you people?” -Squirrel
*dreaming of birds* -Mayhem

Heh. I can’t believe I’m the first poster. Guess that’s what happens when I have to be in Detroit.
I gotta figure out how to photobomb one with my guys. Heh.
Wow! 1000th post! Well, I’m very happy to have been part of most of them.
Isn’t that last picture of the CO black kitty funny?!! Just sitting there, like nothing was, cornstarch all over him. Doodeedoo…
WOOT 1000th Post confetti throw!! You rock girl…
I’ve got to dig through the Alps and find my Josh Lanyon stories. Everywhere I go I see his work recommended. Man, so much to read, so little time.
Hey, thanks for the pimp Chris – that is so great of you!!
And, Tori so wants that squirrel, they don’t dare come in the yard, cus she is a rocket squirrel chasing Crested..
Have a great weekend..
1000! Cool. Look at that Cheryl’s up before me. How can Mayhem dream of birds when that mouse (and squirrel) are RIGHT THERE! TGIF
I love e-books, but I am becoming increasingly frustrated by not being able to buy some books due to “geographical restrictions”. I can buy the paperback in the UK but not the e-book – work that one out 🙂
Omg, that first link to the Touchy-Feelly kitten had me cracking up! Thank goodness no one is at work right now with me!!!!
Thanks for all the links!
CONGRATS CONGRATS on your 100th post!!! ****Doing happy dance for you yayayayayayay***
I hope things at work settle down, although I am feeling you!!
I hope you have a wonderful FRIDAY!!! and a great weekend!
But where’s the moose to go weeth squirrel?
Congrats on 1000 – a tribute to you
happy 1,000th! I am so incredibly impressed. Have a great weekend and I love the pic of the kidz with the squirrel;-)
Awesome! Great! Wonderful!
Can’t wait to see what the next 1000 will bring.
Happy 1000th!! Four years – Woot! That is great and from what I read, a super major accomplishment in the blogging world. I read somewhere, around 95% of all blogs are abandoned after only so many days. Congratulations! I love coming by here!
Thanks for listing my giveaway and some cool news: Jeanne C. Stein said she would contribute 2 more books of choice and book cover magnets for all the winners!! How cool is that?
And thank you–all those steamy book covers were a nice morning wake-up. 😉
Ditto on what Shannah says:) Your reviews on the books cover and the books are always refreshing. And of course nice kitty pictures. Cheers to another 1000 and more.
Hey, happy 1000th! Wow, that is huge. And squirrelized to boot. Oh, man, I feel the same way about Adrien. But I sort of love to worry about him, because I like him so much! If that makes sense. Doesn’t Lanyon so rock? Also, look at all your other books. Sweet. I bought the first Shalvis, and I can’t find it anywhere!
Please send my personal thank you to Jeanne for the Squirrelizer!!!
Congrats on 1,000!!!!!
ps – I ADORE the Adrien English Series. He just said the fifth book will be titled The Dark Tide!
Chris- Wow- 1000 posts- how time flies when you’re having fun.
Chaos and Mayhem look like they have mousie hangovers. Otherwise- no way would that squirrel be there.
LOL! Love the squirrelized pic!
Wow! 1000! That squirrel keeps popping up in my emails from certain people!! Who should be working…..
Love the squirrel! It reminds me of that old Rich Hall sketch on SNL where his character would pop up in the back of all of these photos like political meetings and even baseball cards. Hilarious!
I LOVE the certified pre-owned cat marketing. A co-worker saw a boy selling “lucky orange kitten’s” – in my mind any marketing that gets cats a good home is good marketing. Squirrel free, may be the next step. 🙂
Happy 1000th post! I’m now combing my computer looking for something to squirrelize….
I’m so glad that I’ve gotten to know you over the last four years. I consider you less of a blogging friend and more of a FRIEND. 🙂
I love the squirrel picture. That’s hilarious!
Congratulations on your 1000th post! I really enjoy your blog.
May is going to be awfully annoyed that she slept through the squirrel “visit.” I get the impression that she likes to know about everything.
I love this whole squirrel photo craze! Too cute.
Adopting older cats worked GREAT for me. The only downside is that it hasn’t been too great on the furniture.
The squirreled photo is a hoot! Maybe that’s what my sock in progress pictures need. Squirrels! (Or puppies… I love puppies)
LOL, I LOVE the squirrelized photo!! Too perfect!
That touchy-feelie is cute! Poor Chaos, he’s just a one woman cat.
I had such high hopes for that hanging bookcase – alas, I need some that literally hangs. Possibly I need to cull.
HeeHee that’s a great squirrelized photo! I especially like the rat in the middle of the floor 🙂
Happy 1000! So are you changing the blog to Stumbling Over Squirrel?
Happy 1000th! And I was so happy to meet you and Jeanne when we came to MN 🙂
happy 1000! But watch out for those squirrels they are crazy!
Congrats on the 1000th post!
LOL at the squirrel! Hey watch out for the squirrel though. They’re hard to get out of the house. 😉
Dang – there’s that squirrel butting into your Blog Post!
1000 posts is a big deal. Congratulations!
Congrats on 1000 posts! 😀
We all enjoy your photos and text – (although I do sometimes wonder to myself how you and others post so frequently!! hat’s off to you!)
Awe, I like you too ^_^
Happy 1000, I look forward to the next 1000!
Congrats on number 1000!!
Love your site & it proves there is order in chaos.
I left you a Bingo Award on my blog.
haha! I keep seeing that squirrel popping up, hehe, at least he’s cute!
YAY!! 1000 posts. Congrats. that’s averaging 250 posts a year? about 5 posts per week, with 2 weeks vacay. (ha ha).
Thanks for providing such thoughtful, helpful, and entertaining posts!
Congrats on 1000 posts!!
And they thought this blogging thing was just a passing fancy 😉
I have no idea who “they” were….
