Nothing says “dork” like trying to take a self-portrait

La’s having a contest – post pictures of the cute little feet in your life (furbaby or otherwise) over the next week and you could win some La-made stitchmarkers. (Here’s my entry, La!)

Reading Update
Delete All Suspects by Donna Andrews. This mystery series feature artificial intelligence Turing Hopper, who helps a human private investigator solve crimes. I guess this would be classified as a “techno-cozy” mystery – really, mystery niches are amazing, aren’t they?!
Murder with Puffins and Crouching Buzzard, Leaping Loon by Donna Andrews. These were the first Meg Langslow mysteries I’d read and I enjoyed them much more than I expected – they’re very silly and feel a bit like reading a comedic melodrama. Definitely a nice break from 24! Anyway, Meg works as a blacksmith, making ornamental items – what was I just saying about mystery niches?!? And yes, the titles are all bird-themed, although none of the characters is an ornithologist.

Refined Raglan Photos
Ok, bowing to peer pressure, here you go – me modeling the refined raglan. Don’t I look thrilled? If you’ve been reading for ages and ages, you might notice that this sweater looks awfully similar to something… (You will need to click on the picture to see the cable detail.)

In an attempt to make pictures of a black sweater more interesting, here’s Mayhem! (My baby is all grown up! *sniff*)

“Did you see it?! I was just sitting there in the previous photo, minding my own business when I was rudely snatched up!” -M

And Chaos!

“Why is that thing clicking and beeping and flashing at us?! Obviously we’re running out of time and we’re all going to die!!” -C

  1. I think May looks like she’s smiling and Chaos looks like he’s a little bewildered>>>but cute, cute and the sweater is great!

  2. Oh dear, the photos clearly show that Chaos needed more support and you needed more strength to carry him 😉

Obviously, that style suits you! Gorgeous!

  3. Great sweater! I had to deal with the same peer pressure when the folks who read my blog kept asking me to stop cropping my head off of all of my finished object pictures.
I’m sure that after all of those bib photos that Chaos thought you were going to make him wear that sweater..

  4. Chaos looks terrified in that picture!

Love the sweater; that’s another one (of about 16 gazillion) that I have been wanting to make. Maybe some day 🙂

I’m going to have a heck of a time getting all the photos for La’s contest, but I’m starting work on it tonight – it may take me the whole week!

  5. Very nice sweater! Just last night I was looking at the pattern and thinking that Id love to knit it too. Then I was like: It is pretty much like what you are knitting right now… Just with fancier raglans. If I survive through the Hourglass, the refined raglan will make it on my to do list!

  6. That sweater is perfect. I love the one of May looking so tiny in the corner then suddenly HUGE in your arms. And Chaos, well, if I were to ever cheat on the Boo Man, it would have to be snorgling some Chaos.

  7. May is looking big now! It is interesting to see her compared to Chaos in those pictures — it really emphasizes how different their faces are especially!

  8. Ahh that’s not dorky. If I could knit a fine sweater like that, I’d take pictures of me in action poses though. Like laying on my stomach, with my toes pointed in the air…”I call this one the serpent”

    Now, that’s dorky

  9. You are all sorts of adorable in that sweater! I love it!

And of course I love how C&M tricked you into placing them in your photos! May is getting SO big and Chaos is cute (as usual!)

  10. AMy stole my line “BOMB!!!” You look great – and the sweater looks – well, black – and quite lovely. As always, C & M are their usual darling selves.

  11. Chris is looks fantastic! And of course everyone is enhanced with a black cat.

May definitely looks like an adult kitty now, but Chaos looks like an adult Panther, he’s such a big kitty.

  12. The sweater looks great! Congratulations!

I don’t believe for a minute that May felt “rudely snatched up!” I think she was angling to get in the pictures from the get-go. Now, Chaos, he looks like he would like to be just about anywhere else, espeicially somewhere with tuna. 😉

  13. OMG, you even got the schnozzle in those kitty pics! WAAAAY cute.

If it weren’t for the color of the eyes, I’d say you were holding the same cat. Man, May grew into a beauty!

  14. The sweater looks wonderful on you. If you like black, you like black, nothing wrong with it. I really liked that sweater, but hated the funnel neck. Mainly because anything high up on my neck looks retarded. I like your change to the sweater and now I may actually make it. I love the niche mysteries esp. the bird-themed one. They are very silly, but fun to read.

  15. LOL! I’m still laughing at the last caption. I’m sure that’s what they really think. Very nice sweater. You don’t look dorky at all, but I know what you mean about the self-portrait thing.

  16. You need to move your cute butt closer so I can see that sweater in person. Ya know, over coffee? Aw screw the sweater. I’ll just settle for your company and some coffee. 🙂

  17. yay! Awesome pics!
Miss May has a chubby little face…. ok maybe its not chubby but furrier than Chaos’s. It was neat to see the different of them by holding them.
    Great knit by the way.
