Back! Buried!

It was a great weekend up north at the cabin! Sunny skies, low humidity, comfortable temps in the low 70s, and the bugs (tiny black flies at this time of year) weren’t too bad (I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my brother for being such a tasty flavor for bugs, making things much more pleasant for the rest of us). A great weekend, even though I didn’t knit at all and only read two books. The only pictures I took were pictures of family, who have requested that I maintain their anonymity. (But you can go look at lovely cabin pictures from the archives, should you desire.) (Oh, and I owe many thanks to my wonderful sister-in-law, who always comes up with the tastiest gluten-free creations – her gf Mexican pasta salad was delicious!)

I came back to over 500 entries in Google Reader, so I’m going to try to get that under control right now and get back to more normal blogging tomorrow.

  1. Welcome home! Poor kitties.

Did you know that those black flies are sweet tasting? Well, if you only eat one at a time… tiny drop of sugar on your tongue.

  2. welcome home!

I don’t know what your two do but when I’m gone I get instant love then “ignored” and punished for as long as they can stand it (think like oh 20 min) then I can not go anywhere or do anything without their help for 3 days. And the first day I go back to work? You’d think I’d been gone for a whole year!

  3. Yeah, at least she came home!

Glad you had a great time! I would love summer that much more if I didn’t have the humidity to deal with, and that to me sounds like the perfect weater.

  4. Welcome Back Chris!

So happy you enjoyed a nice restful time away. 🙂

Good luck with the Google Reader thing – yikes!! lol

    Nice pictures…

  5. Yay! All is right with the world this morning cuz I got my daily dose of SoC! Welcome back; glad you had a great time with the family.

  6. *sigh* I just try to keep google reader between 500 and 1000… (I should maybe switch some subscriptions to bookmarks…)

  7. Perhaps that box will help May get over your disappearance? It looks like it would be nice to sit in…

Glad you had a good weekend. 🙂

  8. I’m with furiousball. Clicking mark all read is fine!

I read all of my blogs through delicious, so I just check each link and hope that there weren’t 5-10 entries per person. Maybe I should set it up in Google reader instead.

  9. Glad you had such a great time! And as I would be in your brother’s situation vis a vis the black flies, I hope he isn’t itching too badly.

I don’t see how Mayhem can be so mad when she is brazenly flaunting the rules by sitting on the dining table.

  10. Welcome back!

Mamatulip’s comment about forgetting to unplug the cat made me laugh out loud.

Oh, and a little bird told me you won some more of that Raven stuff. The magic random number generator must know of your love of black yarn.

  11. Hey there! I’m glad you had a good time and HAHA Mayhem. You should be happy you had some peace. We have a dog and Felix is excited when we take her with us, or board her at the neighbors.

  12. Welcome home! Sounds like a terrific time, except for those flies. Hopefully all will be forgiven soon…nothing a little tuna or a few Greenies can’t solve!

  13. Poor shamefully neglected Mayhem.

The 70’s! Freezing! It must have been dreadful. 🙂

Thoughtful of your brother to be such a tasty snack!
