- New releases: Smart Bitches (romance), Book Riot (YA, asexual, best out this week)
- Linkity from Smart Bitches.
- Learn more about the history of public libraries. (I recently read The Library Book by Susan Orlean and it was exceptional.)
- “Amazon before Amazon: The forgotten history of the Amazon Bookstore Cooperative” (Minneapolis).
- Amusing ficlet.
- Some literature humor.
- Some info about non-celiac gluten/wheat sensitivity.
- A fun performance of Bohemian Rhapsody – and it’s not the Green Day concert one.
- I wouldn’t mind living in this one.
- Lovely little desert compound.
- Very nice MCM.
- Another MCM – “an off-brand Frank Lloyd Wright”.
- Colorful little cottage.
- Castle-eque with 29 bedrooms.
- Unusual auto shop conversion in St Paul, Minnesota.
- Very interesting.
- It’s quite, um, dramatic.
- In the “you didn’t even try” category…
- Nope.
- I’m not liking that they’re laminate, which isn’t the best at supporting weight.
- Very awkward indeed.

Very pretty colorful things!
I loved the stained glass windows in that first MCM.
Happy Halloween!
Yup, I learned a bunch about non-celiac gluten/wheat sensitivity when I was trying the Low FODMAP diet with a nutritionist’s help to figure out how to manage my IBS. So I still get to eat regular wheat bread, but I have to be aware that if I eat too much of it I will be uncomfy for the rest of the day. (And how much is “too much”? Well, that depends on the day. I never know in advance.)
I like the ficlet! Didn’t see the twist coming. 😀
I really love the front and stained glass in that CO MCM. I like the whole house of the “off-brand Frank Lloyd Wright” but I would want to replace just about all of the furniture. (And I don’t want living room furniture in my kitchen, thanks.)
That little cottage makes great use of color!
I think the Collinwood link accidentally got posted as the literature humor link also? But wow. 29 bedrooms and 18 baths. Even if I moved my whole extended family into that mansion, we wouldn’t come close to filling that thing. It’s lovely, though.
I do NOT want to sleep in a horse stall, thanks. Nor do I want to clean a bathroom done with entirely black tile. Ick.
I think that staircase with no rails and glass treads would be one I’d treat as a very awkward ladder. (Or I’d just never go upstairs.)
Hi kitties! Hope you had a good Halloween!
I did not expect the boring cottage to be so colorful
