No linkity next week because I will be doing family stuff during my linkity making time. There’s two weeks of linkity below – pace yourselves!
- New releases: Smart Bitches (queer romance, romance, more romance), Reactor (YA SFF/H), Book Riot (YA, more YA, best out this week, best out last week, horror, Latine books)
- Linkity from Smart Bitches. And more.
- A ficlet in progress.
- Cute ficlet.
- Great comic.
- The adventure of the picnic table.
- Knit or crochet a geode.
- 1980s memes.
- The origin of mansplaining.
- Cute one in Sweden.
- Another cute one.
- Lovely Tribeca townhouse.
- Converted grocery store.
- Converted tug boat.
- Cute houseboat.
- The Panther House, a late MCM.
- MCM with an odd main living area.
- Grubby MCM with an amazing antique music theater.
- BookWyrmKnits, this is going to break your brain.
- Passive solar home with potential, although the floors desperately need to be refinished.
- Must love paneling, both painted and au naturale.
- A house with a tower. I didn’t think I could find wood planks (the paneling) disturbing and yet here we are.
- “Like a cartoon version of a [Frank Lloyd Wright] house” with bonus death stairs.
- Barbie themed townhouse, decor included.
- Gothic Revival with a lot of decor.
- Very Florida castle house.
- Fancy one in Utah with a dramatic video. (Thanks, Cheryl!)
- That seems like a lot of money for a house under a double highway bridge.
- This poor Tudor was remade based on a tacky perception of opulence.
- Allegedly cryptid themed cabin.
- What the hell. That’s obviously a teardown.
- “Man cave house“.
- WTF.
- Dang.
- Ankle breaker.
- Evil.
- No railing, too near/over tables…
- Umm.
Harry at the vet (routine annual check-up plus rabies update).
Polly at the vet (routine annual check-up plus rabies update). Harry is absolutely the braver of the two siblings.
Oh, those houses under the bridge in Sweden are just lovely. Fabulous views, too, despite the bridges.
I hear the famous Stahl house in Los Angeles is going on the market for the first time ever. I’m sure that will fetch a pretty penny. Apparently, the price is “available on request”, and expected to reach around $25m.
I love the crocheted geode! I know someone who makes geode dice, and they are also super cool.
Man, those 80’s memes brought back memories. Viewmaster discs were a favorite souvenir of mine. (I don’t think I still have any of them, though.)
I like that place in Sweden. (Living in Sweden doesn’t sound too bad right now, either.) That’s a cute townhouse in Tribeca, too! And I’m honestly surprised at how nice that grocery store conversion turned out.
HOW DID THAT LOVELY VICTORIAN SELL FOR SUCH A LOW PRICE? You were right. That one broke my brain. It sold for LESS MONEY THAN MY DOWN PAYMENT, and it’s a MUCH bigger house. Argh.
I don’t like those uneven wood panels, either. (Ick.) The Barbie condo is fine, except for the hot tub in the garage. (Also ick.) The gothic castle is neat, but way too decorated for me.
I’m torn about the listing in Sweden that’s under the bridges. On the one hand, living under bridges like that would suck. But on the other, both the houses and the view is spectacular. I don’t think it’s worth the price, though. The allegedly cryptid house is kind fun, but I didn’t see any cryptid inspiration.
That WTF teardown house reminds me of the short story ‘—And He Built a Crooked House—’ by Robert Heinlein. (Well worth reading, if you can find a copy.)
That is quite a collection of death stairs you found this week. O.o
Hi kitties! Hope the check-up went well.
So many fun houses today, houses for the win! or boats
