In which Mayhem appears to be very happy that there are socks on the floor

Back in, um, February, I started a pair of socks for my SIL’s birthday in early March. *hopes no one notices what date it is now* Those socks are now complete!

“Socks on the floor! Yay!!!!” -Mayhem

“Is there a problem?” -Mayhem

Apparently you’ll just have to imagine what the rest of the socks look like…

“Socks! I love socks! Even if they aren’t stripey.” -Mayhem

I even started knitting a new pair of socks for myself.

“Stripey! Hurry up, Mom.” -Mayhem

Yes, dear…

Hopefully all the knitters were near padded surfaces when they collapsed from the shock of seeing knitting on the blog. 😉

  1. *thuds to the floor*
Are those KNITTED socks?? I’m shocked and amazed! They look great.. I absolutely love the colored stripes on the new pair.. going to have to look up that yarn!
(BTW.. I’m totally joking with you- I don’t even want to think about how ‘old’ the pair of socks in my knitting bag are right now or when the last time I picked them up was)

  2. *laughing so hard almost chokes*

YAH for finishing your SIL’s socks. They look gorgeous! Well, what I can see of them. It’s like your cats know…hide the socks so they can’t be removed 🙂

And the stripey socks look gorgeous!

    Congrats Mia!

  3. Oooo, nice! Both of them! And those stripes line up nicely.

I’m surprised Mayhem remembers what those things on the floor being photographed are… *ducking*

  4. Where in the world did you find catnip yarn?

My poor sister’s cat has been cut-off from catnip, it was making him have potty problems. Of course he was getting fresh catnip 4 or 5 times a day!

  5. err – I think I have you beat with a pair that I’ve had on the needles for almost a year >:S
    hah
    love those new stripey onestoo!!

  6. Yay socks! I have finished socks on my blog, too! (But you already commented that on my post… hmm.)

And no padded surfaces were needed here this morning. I already collapsed yesterday when I saw the Rav update. 😉

  7. Those came out very nice (of what I could see). I think you need to make Mayhem a pair of stripey socks for her……At least a sock shaped blanket!

  8. Beautiful! Both the socks and May 🙂

I actually just finished one sock that I started in February too, so you’re doing better than I am! They’re just for me though, so no deadlines. Maybe the other one won’t take as long though…

  9. Yay!!! *claps* I bet the SIL will love them. I know I would, especially since they are blue. 🙂

  10. Hey honey!!! I just had to drop by. I know it is late… but still my day… is a day from hell. I won’t even go there… So to see my Princess kitty in heaven is making my day/night a little better! Thanks for sharing your babies with us!!!!

  11. Okay… and you gave me crap about my daughter’s cat, making sweet lurve to my sockyarn! That cat is darn near smoking a cigarette and getting ready to raid the fridge… you’re lucky those socks aren’t pregnant! (Or the cat… you know… I’m not really sure the socks are masculine, feminine or gender neutral…)

And I’ve actually used that exact color before to make fingerless mitts w/a ruffle. Purty. So purty. Someone has nice taste:-)

  12. I had forgotten about those socks..

Good thing I didn’t put in an order.. 2015 looks likes the earliest date for me..

Is Mayhem chewing on the knitting needles?.
