Has anyone tried the new GF Valencia Orange Cake from Starbucks? What did you think? Sadly, orange anything (other than juice) isn’t a favorite, so I’ll pass. But I’m glad to see our options increasing!

  1. Why, Mayhem, she’s made you a Panther Princess Star of the Internets with all those photos! I think you deserve a furry, feathery, pink throne. 😉

The 4 lolcats of the Apocalypse are hilarious!

  2. I haven’t tried the GF cake at Starbucks mostly because for me gluten isn’t a problem (and so I keep getting suckered into the cinnamon chip scone).

If I wanted to make a baked good (bread, cake, etc.) gluten free, what would you do? Do you have a favorite recipe? (Yes, I will google this later, but I figured you are an expert.)

  3. I have had that Altoids mini-toolbox window open since yesterday or the day before, waiting for some time when Smokey isn’t around so I can make one for him. Thanks for introducing me to Lifehacker!

  4. thanks for all the linkity links! (esp the Nutro one… the heathens eat Nutro crunchies but thankfully their food wasn’t affected!)

  5. Speaking of knitting – related, I went to the library yesterday and saw so many knitting related romances and mysteries. It was really pitiful, I think. I like knitting and all, but I don’t need it as a theme for my fiction book.

  6. Wait, is that a black cat egg I see there?

The double-stick tape idea never worked for me. Katie just went around pulling it off with her teeth. I ended up with double-stick tape all over the floor. The spray Feliway works well though along with her favorite scratching pads.

I just may have to make a mini-toolbox or two.

  7. Thanks for all those links! You do an amazing job of keeping us informed.

May, you can never have enough cute kitty photos, no matter what you do with them. Wallpaper is one option, though.

  8. Cheryl told me I should have told you I have tried the Starbucks GF cakes. They’re quite good, not too sweet but very orange. I’d have one again. I got so caught up in the pizza link I forgot to mention this yesterday. 😉

  9. Box Tops Rock! As do people who send them to us.

And Rice and Corn Chex are both gluten free. Corn Chex: my only cold cereal.

  10. uh oh…R better not find out about the orange cake at starbucks, orange is his favorite! He’ll eat his own weight in it if not stopped! ;o)

  11. Hahaha – those cats on the table (Chester is second from the left)! I just had a snack, looked down and realized I had two beggarcats.

Double-stick tape seems to *attract* cats in my house, oddly.

  12. Fantastic link about scratching. I’m a diehard nail-trimmer and I swear by it. You have to start trimming when the cat is young so they get used to it, and do it when they’re sleepy (not frisky) so it’s just a little grooming ritual, not a fight. If you do it quickly but in a relaxed way and act like it’s no big deal they won’t freak out.

Inexpensive cardboard scratchers totally work for our 3 cats, and they last a long time, too.
