Kureyon-Chan revisited, a recipe, and a visit from Ceiling Cat

What with MagKnits being removed yesterday, I made a new page for my Kureyon-Chan felted bag pattern. I’ve updated the link in the sidebar and Ravelry should be updated soon.

“Dah-links! Don’t you think I look simply smashing with this bag?” -Chaos

Work totally ate my brain yesterday (I blame the meeting that was scheduled for one hour but stretched to three). I think the most amusing thing that happened yesterday was when the windshield replacement company arrived to replace my car’s windshield and their van had… a broken windshield.

Hmm, it’s been a while since we had a recipe around here, hasn’t it? Here’s the world’s easiest peanut butter cookie recipe, which also happens to be gluten-free (as long as you use crumb-free peanut butter):

Peanut Butter Cookies
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar if using unsweetened peanut butter, or 1/2-2/3 cup if using sweetened pb
1 egg
chocolate chips (optional)

Mix ingredients. Drop by spoonfuls on to cookie sheet and press flat with a fork. Bake at 350F for 10 minutes. Do not overbake! Let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the cookie sheet before you try to remove them.

“Yes, Ceiling Cat? I am to go forth and spread the word? And the word is… supercalifragilisticexpialidocious? Ummmmm… could you write that down for me, please? ‘K thx, bye.” -Mayhem

  1. I think you should tack carpet to the walls and ceilings, and maybe the kitties COULD get up there! Great looking socks…

  2. Thanks for re-posting your pattern – that’s very generous! I hadn’t heard about Magknits yet. It makes me sad, since I used to really look forward to browsing through their patterns when a new “edition” came out.

  3. Mmm they sound good! What does crumb free mean? Not crunchy?

Shame about MagKnits – I’m glad I printed off the Jaywalker pattern a few weeks ago.

  4. Oh, that’s too weird… I was thinking of those PB cookies last night, and how I want to make some soon… *cue X-Files music*… We are so in tune. What about posting the brownies recipe? *hint hint*

    That’s a shame about MagKnits.

May been hittin’ the ‘nip again?

  5. MrsPao – “Crumb free” means there aren’t crumbs from “regular” toast or bread in the peanut butter, as tends to happen when you need to stick the knife back into the jar a time or two as you make your toast or sandwich.

Brigitte – You can find the brownie recipe here!

  6. Here I was trying to figure out how you got crumb-containing peanut butter – duh.

One thing I don’t miss about full-time, corporate-type jobs – those ever-expanding meetings. Although I manage to replace them every once in a while with LAX board meetings or PTO meetings.

  7. Whoa–I just turned the oven on to preheat to make these cookies and while I’m waiting* I’m reading blogs. And here you are suggesting them! Eerie!

*My antique oven takes at least an hour to preheat. More than once I’ve waited so long I forgot I had planned to bake anything and found it blazing hot when I was getting ready for bed. Ooops!

  8. I agree – May does look a little spaced. Or is she simply in awe that Ceiling Cat has appeared to her?

Chaos looks divine with that bag. I should really make one of those, what with my ridiculous Noro stash….

  9. such a cute bag. I tend to collect one skein of Kureyon. One from Knitch in Atlanta reminds of seeing the Yarn Harlot there. The bag really brings out- well something-in Chaos’ fur. Think I need more caffeine.

  10. So what does Chaos carry in that cute bag? Treats? Mice? ‘Nip?

I might have to try those cookies. I can’t believe it would work with just pb, sugar, and egg. And since when is chocolate “optional”?

  11. I hadn’t heard about Magknits — now I’m wondering what patterns I didn’t print off that I should have!

You can also not press those cookies flat, and when they come out of the oven, press a chocolate kiss (or Brach chocolate star) on top. Yum!

  12. Bunmmer about Magknits!

I guess maybe I should bother to print out patterns that I really like. Now I can’t even remember what was there that I had still wanted to knit:-(

  13. Ooo. Thanks for publishing the pattern! Never got around to printing the pattern out. 🙂

Peanut butter cookies…mmm. Now I’m hungry. I should inspect my jar for crumbs.

  14. Chaos of course you look smashing. It’s your colors. Besides every kitty needs a bag to carry their tuna and catnip.

    That’s too bad about MagKnits.
