Worth nine thousand words?

Whew! Yesterday was a very fun and knitterly day for me. First, I met another knitblogger for coffee and (no surprise) knitting at the Riverview Cafe. Meet Renee of A Good Yarn, holding up the Nantasket Basket she just finished knitting as one of her Project Spectrum projects.

On my way out of the Riverview Cafe, I discovered that its restroom was rather Project Spectrumesque:

Then I headed west to Minnetonka to Charlene’s house (Charlene should drop me an email with her blog address) for an afternoon of knitting (me) and spinning (not me). Here’s Charlene, a lovely local spinner/knitter who shall not be named, and part of Kerry. (Very tricky, Kerry!)

Somehow Leah managed to not be in that picture, so she gets her very own picture (Leah, I didn’t get your LiveJournal address, either):

Hey, I was having way too much fun to worry about those blog address details.

I also finished my Rose Garden Dublin Bay socks yesterday. I think they got the Chaos Seal of Approvaltm.

“Hmm, I guess they’re ok. They’re not catnip socks, but they’ll do.”

And I got a good start on my April Project Spectrum socks – my Rainbow Jays. If anyone can tell me exactly what country Regia Nation color 5399 is supposed to be, I’d appreciate it!

The interesting shape of a toe-up Jaywalker reminded me of something and I finally figured out what it was:

  1. does that mean that Chaos will be in love/lust with the Jaywalkers? Or that you’ll have to make an extra sock to be a cover up Chaos’ girlfriend?

  2. Its kind of lucky I wasn’t drinking anything when I got to that last picture… I’ll never look at my Jaywalkers the same again 😉

    I love that Regia colourway!

  3. Oh my gosh!!! It’s like you and I are sharing a brain. First, we both just finished pairs of Thujas. Now, I am up to the gussets on a pair of toe-up Jaywalkers. And, all week, I’ve been showing my knitting friends how much they look like boobs! Ahem.

    (Blog entry to come soon…)

  4. I love that sock yarn you have – looking forward to seeing it in Jaywalkers. Hopefully Chaos doesn’t see the resemblance those socks bear to his beloved bust!

I wish I could’ve gone to the spinning group – my life is always better after spending time with the crazy lady. She is just *too* much!

  5. You’re lucky to get His seal of approval considering the way you keep leaving him to his devices. I’m surprised the Barbie form is still intact.

  6. Very nice FO socks – but that new stuff! Wild! muy cool!! Did you have to lock Chaos in the closet for those pictures – between yarn AND the mini-dress form thingy, how did he resist?

  7. Fun nation indeed! The only nation that even comes close colourwise would be Jamaica – they do look a bit like rasta colours :-)Lovely jaywalkers and yes I se what you mean 😉

  8. I LOVE the Regia yarn — and the Jaywalker pattern is really showing it off ;o) Such fun meetings and projects!

We were starting to go into Chaos withdrawal, you know ;o) Off to garden hop!

  9. OK, I’m not the first, but still: FUN NATION!
I made a pair of socks using this yarn and loved every minute of it. Looks like you’re having just as much fun.

  10. Both your socks are really cool! I wish Josh’s socks would go faster so I could get back to more socks for me! I’m seriously considering buying some of that Rose Garden Yarn.

  11. ohhhhhhhh loving the Regia colourway! Are these really for you?? Now that’s colour baby!
Your FO’s look great as well, mehhh I need to get back to knitting mine!

  12. Hee heee, dirty gal.

Loooove the rose colored socks – the colors are so pretty! That orange/yellow combo on the new jaywalker is great! Can’t wait to see more of it. 🙂

  13. Sounds like a fun fibery Saturday.
I like the way the Dublin Bay socks turned out and the Jaywalkers look like they will be fun… I guess that’s why it’s Fun Nation. 🙂

  14. Your Rose Garden Dublin Bay socks are beautiful!! I’ve been seeing these gorgeous Dublin Bay socks all over Blogland… they’re definitely going on my to-knit list! And how fun and funky is your new Regia?! Those are going to be such awesome Project Spectrum socks!! I love the way it’s knitting up! Take care, Chris! 🙂

  15. The dublin bay socks are nice but I am loving the luridness of the new toe up jaywalkers!
And Renee is a bigger version of Gibbering, Kellie’s best mate and my friend. Spooky!

  16. Hey, I just started some socks in the same yarn this weekend — who cares which country it represents, they make me happy. If you find a place that uses these colors for its flag, I’m moving there.

Mine are plain stockinette — I need a brainless sock to work on right now. Plus, these are my first toe up pair — a goal for the year was to finally manage this technique. I’ll post pictures tonight.

  17. I made some in the Regia Fun Nation a while back and I love them…I call them my “Pippi Loudstockings.” The only problem is that the color repeat is VERY long, so I made mine fraternal twins rather than waste 1/4 of the skein getting to the correct color. I love them the way they are, though, they make me happy just looking at them!

  18. I like the Fun Nation socks, so cute! The Dublin Bay socks look great too! I’m planning on starting those soon. It’s always fun meeting new bloggers too! 🙂

  19. The Rose Garden socks are beautiful! I really must finish my current LG sock….

And those Regia Nation socks are just great fun. I do love that colourway 😉
