Vacation, I forget what day

Carole and Susan are hosting a knitalong to use up those single skeins of yarn you have lying around: Lonesome Skein. (My pattern coming out in the December issue of MagKnits might help you with any leftover skeins of Kureyon…)

On Tuesday, I met up with Renee and went to see The Science of Sleep at the Uptown Theater (love sitting in the balcony there!). Renee, of course, has a much more thorough review of the film than I’ll ever manage. Watching the film was like looking at Dali painting. I enjoyed it, but was thoroughly confused! After the film, we walked over to Tum Rup Thai – I had the green curry over rice and Renee had a red curry over rice noodles. YUM. Then we walked over to Zeno (no link because their website seems to have vanished) and had coffee and chatted and knitted. Ahhhhh… Thanks, Renee!

Last night, Jeanne came over and we knitted and chatted and sipped pinot noir and watched some cat antics. Ok, that’s a lie – we watched cats sleep. Very stimulating, that. But – I did finish weaving in the ends of my Regia Silk (charcoal) waffle socks (two rounds k2p2, two rounds knit)! Yes, an actual FO, for those who’ve forgotten that there’s knitting on this blog now and again. This first picture’s for the Neatnik, who is very fond of cat butt photos.

*yawn*

If you miss the face of Chaos (not just his butt), this one’s for you:

“If that last picture was more revealing than you claim, the socks are toast!”

And just because Mayhem is busy being Mayhem…

“Hee hee! Big kitty, you will never expect my attack from here!”

  1. I’m glad to see an FO!! It’s about time! 😉

They look great & it’s good to see that Chaos is feeling well enough to start nosing around the camera again!

  2. Sounds like you had a wonderful day! Science of Sleep sounds like something we’d enjoy too – but I doubt we’ll find a place playing it :o( outside of Nashville.

Chaos looks perkier ;o) and May is right on the ball discovering the cats in sinks website (while you were out) and posing for you surreptitiously.

  3. yay for finished socks!

I love the pic of May in the sink – does she drink from the running faucet? (I should unearth the pic of Kashka doing that.)

  4. It’s good to see Chaos on camera again. Great picture of May in the sink.

I know what you mean about FOs. I’ve had trouble coming up with one lately too.

  5. You MUST go look in Yarnplay for the sweater in there called – Everything but the Kitchen Sink! It is a sweater that uses up all kinds of leftover yarn. It’s so cool! She used something like 36 skeins of different yarn!

  6. *sigh* There are times when living in the country really sucks. The one crappy movie theatre around here just gets your mainstream crap. No theatre, no symphany, no opera. No good cafes or great little restaurants, just places like “Bob’s Diner” that serves scraple year round. Ack! Sorry,I digress, love the socks, very cool, glad to see that Chaos is mending quickly.

  7. Congrats on the MagKnits pattern! Your socks look terrific! And oh…so good to see Chaos’ face (even a wary face) and his other end looks just fine (please assure him we didn’t see a thing?). May is adorable – but does she REALLY think Chaos won’t recognize an action he probably did himself? Ah, kittenhood!
    (((hugs)))

  8. Holy crap…you knit? 😉

Like I don’t have enough cat butt in my life…it’s what I wake up to every morning. It is good to see Chaos’ sweet face, though.

  9. Very discreet beefcake photo of Chaos! It’s nice to see him looking better. Mayhem is so cute.

Forgot what day it is? Oh, how I love that feeling.

And last but not least, an FO! Whoo!

  10. Yeah, I think Atticus is pretty much had it with Senor Gandalf’s surprise attacks.

Nice to see Chaos’ wee little cute face! And nice warm socks too…What’s the fiber content of the Regia Silk? (Duh, silk, I know…what else?)

  11. Not being able to see the detail in, uh, detail…those socks look quite similar to the Socks of Doom. I like them.

Chaos, as always, is precious…WATCH OUT FOR MAY, CHAOS!! SHE’S IN THE SINK!!

  12. Well done on the FO!!!

My first ever kitty loved playing in the sink and even the bath and even better when it was full of water – hey – noone had told him cats didn’t like water 😉

Sounded like you’ve had a good vacation and nice to hear Chaos is doing so much better.
