Ebook Giveaway: Wild Thing by Mia Watts [CONTEST CLOSED]

Many thanks to Mia Watts for donating an ebook copy of her forthcoming paranormal m/m romance, Wild Thing, for a lucky commenter to win! Wild Thing will be released on August 23 by Total-E-Bound.

Today’s contest is a little bit different. Because Mia’s been having some health issues lately, I’m sure she would very much appreciate it if your comments included something silly or fun to lift her spirits.

Jack has known Ryan for years, but he had no idea what a Wild Thing he was.

The residents of small Minnesota town, Libby, are used to seeing timber wolves in their woods. But the sightings being reported to DNR officer Jack Allen are anything but typical. These reports indicate a huge species of the wolf, and they’re scared.

Having grown up in the town, Jack knows just whom to ask for help, long time friend Ryan Walsh. It doesn’t hurt that he’s had a crush on Ryan for as long as he can remember.

As a wildlife photographer, Ryan lives in the woods and pretty much keeps to himself. He’d be perfectly happy to share that existence with a certain sexy DNR guy. So when Jack asks for his help in tracking a huge wolf, Ryan jumps at the chance to get Jack alone.

But what will happen when Ryan shifts into his canine form and Jack is looking down the barrel of his tranq gun?

  1. I’m not sure what would be best for cheering you up, Mia, but here goes.

Victor, my dog, is bi-humpual. When we meet other dogs on our walks, he goes into the normal butt sniffing mode and then alley-oop he is on top of them, trying to mount them for all he is worth.

Of course, he is fixed, so his bi-humpual nature doesn’t get him very far at all!

And now to the coffee, before I wake up the neighborhood with the banshee cry of the coffee deprived!

  2. Please put my name into the drawing; this book looks great!

And I have a cat story for Chaos, and Mayhem…oh, and Mia, too.

Bill and I were sitting in the dark of our living room very late one night and had just reached that OMG moment of a terrible horror flick when the kitty door flew opened and Dragon, our long haired-orange tabby, came into the house. We sat speechless as Dragon’s entire body began to light up and then go dark, and then light up again and again, flashing on and off like a cheap neon sign. I reached down to pet her sweet head, so honored that she had come back to say goodbye to me on her way to Kitty Heaven. And that’s when a firefly (lightening bug) crawled from her fun onto my hand. Yes, a colony of fireflys had taken up residence in her fur. What fun!

    Feel better soon.
    Donna

  3. Let me clear something up…Dragon wasn’t dying, she wasn’t even aware she was flashing (so to speak). My feeble brain was trying to understand what was happening and took me straight into woo-woo land. Dragon continues to be a sweetie although she is now an inside-only kitty.

Sorry for the confusion, but now you can understand why I am a reader rather than a writer. 🙂

  4. Please enter me.

Feel better soon Mia!!! If you want a laugh, I suggest you head over to my Wicked Wednesday Hump Show and see me make a fool of myself dressed as a belly dancing ninja. 🙂 Yup. It’s true.

Mia, I hope you feel better! I have a kinda funny story that involves my cat.

So, his name is Kitty because he refuses to respond to his real name, Leo. At night, when I let my dog outside, I have to walk through the living to get to the door and it’s always dark because I hate having to turn lights on. Well, like clockwork, my kitty follows me out and I don’t even notice him until after closing the back door, this thing decides to maul me out of no where. So, what do I do? I scream my head off because I think it’s an iguana or the boogieman, or something. My brother comes running out of his room (yes, I live with my brother) turning on every single light in the house and asks, “What?” By now, I’m clawing at my hair, practically crying. “Something just fell on me!” I shouted. So, he comes into the living room and looks around to see if whatever it is is still there. And there’s Kitty just sitting pretty looking at us with innocent eyes, his tail swishing a mile a minute. Kitty looks at us for about ten more seconds then turns his back and hops away. My brother couldn’t stop laughing. Did I forget to mention that I didn’t give Kitty catnip because he peed on my dog’s bed? Yeah, I have a cat that likes to get revenge. lol

  7. Hi Chris,

I love Mia’s books. Please enter me in this contest. It’s be great to win, but I ‘m getting this one for sure.

    ~ Monica

  8. Thank you!!! OMG bihumpual and faux iguana attacks and lightning bug cats sheesh! You know these stitches HURT when I laugh, right?

You guys are awesome and so is Chris for putting you up to this. I’m going to go check out the ninja dance and Tam, I already love Vegemite. I have it every morning on my toast. 🙂

  9. Mia: Holy crap, I just saw your comment at Tam’s on vegemite. I thought you were kidding about having it for breakfast every day… but you aren’t?! Oh my.

  10. Chris: Nope. Absolutely dead serious. I love the stuff. Everyone thinks it smells like crushed vitamins. I think it smells like strong yeast and tastes like that with soy sauce. Salty but oh so nummy.

I get my tubes of eBay two at a time.

  11. Please enter me in the contest.

Mia, sorry to hear you’re not feeling so great. Get better soon.

Chaos, Mommy is just keeping you safe. Come out of that bag.

  12. A friend sent this to me a while ago. I don’t know where he got it…

  13. Ewwww Vegemite! Oh, uh, sorry Mia. Maybe all the vegemite is what has you under the weather? lol Just kidding. 🙂 I hope you feel better soonly.

So count me in, please. I’d love to read this book.

  15. Sorry to hear your not feeling well Mia. This is my favorite joke ever – I think it will probably loose something with the typing so you have to tell it out loud to someone. Makes me giggle every single time… ready?

  16. Hi Mia,

I am a big fan of yours. Sorry to hear you’re not feeling so well. Like the saying goes, take two,(your choice of shifters of course) and call the doctor in the morning.

    Get well soon.

  17. Thanks, Monica! I’m doing a little better every day. Now if I could just crunch out the next book, I have about two days to get a rough in to my editor. Wonder if a writer can get fired??? LOL.

  18. Mia I hope you feel better soon….”Doorknob *pop*”! 😉 Wait is that funny if you don’t hear me say it?
