Finally Friday…

Thanks to everyone who’s already captioned in the “Caption Me, Baby” Contest! You can caption along until 6 pm CDT, March 11.

Becka’s teaching a class on how to start a blog and is looking for examples of different ways blogs are used. If you leave her a comment with a blog link and explain how the linked blog is used (journal, shop, portfolio, etc), you could win a fibery art prize! Her contest closes March 8.

Jeanne has a fun post in which she ponders some aspects of Ravelry – make sure you read the comments, too!

As usual, I’ve gotten behind on my thank yous, so I’ll start getting caught up today. Last week, Fraro sent me some of her lovely yarn (many, many yards of Black Beauty – how did she guess?!) and some happy spring Regia.

“Stay back, May – Mom said this yarn was too special for your snickity-snick teeth to get anywhere near it!” -Chaos

“Hmph.” -Mayhem

She included this cute card, too – thanks, Fraro!

“Hey, how come this is un chat and not deux chats?!” -Chaos & Mayhem

KnitNana also sent me a package last week – check out the hair ties that she made and the cute knitting t-shirt! Thank you!

“Mom, is my hair long enough to wear a cute hair tie? And no, you cannot put it on my tail. Hmph.” -Mayhem

“Oh, I think it will make a great kitty toy instead!” -Mayhem

Happy weekend, everyone! Don’t forget to “spring forward” if you’re in the US or Canada… *grumbles*

  1. Heh, thanks for the link! You know, lately you’ve been influencing me with the choices you’ve put in your queue, thank you very much.

Aw, those are great gifties! Thanks for the DST reminder, *sigh*. That, coupled with the big honkin’ storm we’re getting this weekend should make for a rockin’ good time… 😀

  2. Who has time to think about DST when the so called “biggest storm” this season is coming? So far, it’s a day late 😉

  3. Argh, thanks for the reminder, I keep conveniently forgetting. I hate daylight slavings time. Great hair ties. So how do you get people to send you stuff? I want in on your secret. I’m seriously loving the hair ties, does she have an etsy?

P.S. I used your blog as an example in the contest, it’s the first blog I read every morning.

  4. You get the best mail. 🙂

Yeah, I’ll be springing forward this weekend…springing forward to shovel the driveway, if we get as much snow as we’re supposed to be getting…

  5. Don’t know if I can spring anywhere…that Fraro – she does crazy pretty things with the purple and the black doesn’t she?

  6. Heh–that is so me. I’ve got nearly 200 projects queued, and how many have I finished so far this year? Two? Three? (And none of those are lace shawls, either.)

I have those cat cards. 🙂

  7. Chris- Yeah, I saw that the time change is happening, and I’m not ready. Could we put the world on hold for a while?

Cat activities will resume as normal, of course.

  8. I’m so sorry about the time change. I agree with you, too, but don’t want to enable. It will take me a week to recover. Durnit.

  9. Great yarn and goodies! Cats make good props for displaying cards. I hope the yarn remains bite free.

Best of luck with the time change.

  10. Nice score! It would look darling on your tail, Mayhem, but I understand why you wouldn’t like it.

    I’d totally forgotten D”S”T. Yurk.

And now I’m off to read the captions. Because the IRS can just hold their horses.

  11. Nice packages! I like those hair ties and the Black Beauty yarn. Argh, Daylight Savings Time! They should make Monday a holiday so we can ease into the new time.
