(*Idea shamelessly stolen from V!)
But first… I can’t even remember the last time I saw gas prices this low. Be sure to check out the lovely grey skies, too! And yes, that is some snow in the background – while Minneapolis only had 4″ of snow on New Year’s Eve, the ‘burbs out where I work had twice that much.
So here it is, the second week of January, and I already have four FOs! I blame 24 for this surge in knitting productivity. It will come as no surprise to any of you that my first three FOs were… bibs. The two in front are for a shower gift; the one in back will go to a craft sale to raise funds for Knittymama’s local greyhound rescue chapter.
Nothing wrong with his logic – but, alas, Mayhem didn’t pay attention to Chaos’ words of wisdom.
And the fourth FO – the purple and black stripey socks, from the yarn Jeanne dyed for my birthday! Do you like my new sock blockers?! I can’t believe what a difference they make for modeling finished socks!
Hooray for Chappy’s sock blockers!
Poor May, but I’m sure Chaos is snickering.
I remember when gas was briefly that low – 2 years ago in late September. It was 1.98 right before my son was born and hasn’t gotten close to it since then. I love the socks and the blockers!
I can’t imagine how Terry would react if I tried to have him model my knits! May indeed looks like a “SuperCat” flying through the house (creating mayhem?)
I am very jealous of your low gas prices! Here in Western Washington, it is around $2.60 or something near that.
The sock blockers look great! I desperately need some. My socks look crunchy when they haven’t been blocked.
Nice bibs and socks! That reminds me. I have some bibs I need to knit. I’ve been eyeing Chappy’s sock blockers. Tell May she does indeed look like a superhero.
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No! It’s Super May!
I got to get me some sock blockers! Thanks for the link.
love the superhero shot. your cats really do make great models. maybe I should make bibs…
Yay for FO Fridays! Nice bib models 😉 I love my sock blockers…but only finished 1 pair so far to use them.
Love the pooling on the bib sorry cape that May is wearing, and you are right about the sock blockers – I may just have to get a pair myself.
*cue superhero music* SUPEEER May!!!
I ordered a pair from chappy last week 🙂 They look great! Can’t wait to get mine.
Yay for TV & “24”! Poor, silly May but at least, you do look like a superhero!
FO Friday is a very cool idea! I love your new socks (and the blockers are darling).
Gas is still hovering around $2.25/gallon here in Boston. Pfft.
Hmmm, so what’s that price in liters?!
Yes May, you do look like a Superhero! Love that squinty picture of her! Aw, you know I always find that Gandalf doesn’t photograph well from the front, his features look too sharp, but May’s a natural!
The bib on Mayhem definitely looks like a cape!
Heehee…I love superhero May!
And the socks & sock blockers are totally cool! Purply stripey goodness!
Can you work on sending some snow here? I need some home days!
Super-Mayhem!!!!
Love the blue socks.
No wonder you finished those socks…what great yarn! The colors and the stripes are just perfect for socks.
The bib yarns resulted in some nice patterning, too, didn’t they?
What yarns did you use for the bibs? They look awesome! I have a shower coming up in Feb, and need a few quick gifts…
Yes, May, you sure as hell do look like a superhero. You can come and save my day anytime!
VERY cool sock blockers! VERY VERY cool…but I’d still love to see Chaos try to model those socks..and btw…OUR gas prices are that low – so what’s the deal? It’s usually more expensive the farther north you go?
🙂
(((hugs)))
What pretty socks! And very cool sock blockers! As usual your cats are adorable in their roles as models.
Super May, bib-modeling supercat with nerves of steel and a heart of gold. Together with her reluctant sidekick Chaos they battle their arch enemy, DeVoid, the empty food bowl of doom. In this week’s adventure…
The socks and bibs look great, I knew it would’nt be too long before Mayhem had to model!!!!, although I think she needs more practice.
Tell May she totally looks like a superhero. 🙂 I am jealous of your gas prices…
wait…my brain isn’t computing that price…why doesn’t it have a 2 in the front. they must be selling something else…does not compute
I’ve been lusting after sock blockers like that, but alas I’m still using my old wire hanger version 🙂
Those bibs are great. I love how you get an ombre looking argyle thing going on them.
And, your gas is under $2.00!!!! *sigh*
LOVE the superhero look, Mayhem.
pretty socks too (are you sure she didn’t need a hat to go with that cape?)
Wow! I’m so jealous of those gas prices – we aren’t nearly as lucky over here in NYC!!
Congrats on the FOs!! You have been so productive! They all look so great!
The striping in the bibs turned out really neat!
Oh sure, you taunt me with snow pictures, and now you throw in a picture of cheap gas?!?! Yes, Mae, you are the very picture of feline super heroness!
Chris- I can only assume that Chaos, being the ultimate pioneer bib model, was no-where to be seen.
Smart cookie.
Oh goodie – an idea for a new post!!
Yes, one side effect of TV watching is more knitting! And May does indeed look like SuperKitten.
Cute bibs and I like the purple socks, remind me of Donny Osmond during the 70s. LOL (He always wore purple socks on his show)
can’t believe how big May has gotten
Sock blockers are great, and these kitty ones are cute. Are the wooden ones heavyish? What is/would be May’s superhero alter ego’s name??
Ok seeing M in the bib with the superhero comment made me LOL!!! Which was good since my chin was on the table from looking at that gas price!! OMG!!!!
Chaos needs a super identity too. Then they can be Super May and Captain Chaos.
Wow! The bib in the front right has positively awesome pooling. Which color was it?
What yarn did you use for the bib that the kitties are wearing?!? I love the pattern it made!!
Yep – the socks were so pretty on your blockers that I immediately had to go and order a set.
Yeah, I can’t believe what a difference sock blockers make when showing off your FO’s… did you see the Mason Dixon post where a ‘deflated’ ribbed sock was described as ‘flaccid’??? 🙂
I love the way the one bib looks like argyle!
I COVET your sock blockers. But, they are not in the budget right now!
Because of you I know that you can buy or make nifty yarn that knits stripes all by itself, but how do you get it to make that cool argyle pattern you’ve got going on that peachy colored bib?
Hey – there’s a contest over here that ends Monday.
http://kitchencotton.blogspot.com/
Thought I’d help her out and let you know, since you are usually blog contest central.
A buck ninety seven? I’m driving out there RIGHT now! What’s that some 1400 miles? May SO looks like a super hero, though of the pastel variety (what does THAT mean?)
AH! That flying Mayhem pic is awesome! Send it to me please. I’m getting banner ideas.
May is, as always, adorable, and I love the bibs. I need to work on some .. but where to find the time! Ack!
Wow! I love those sock blockers and May has shown her true self as a superhero 🙂
