Ebook anthology giveaway- Charmed and Dangerous: Ten Tales of Gay Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy [CONTEST CLOSED]

Many thanks to Lou Harper for donating an ebook copy of the m/m paranormal anthology, Charmed and Dangerous: Ten Tales of Gay Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy, for a lucky commenter to win! Charmed and Dangerous is being released today (August 25) by JCP Books.

Magic takes many forms. From malignant hexes to love charms gone amok, you’ll find a vast array of spells and curses, creatures and conjurings in this massive collection – not to mention a steamy dose of man-on-man action. Charmed and Dangerous features all-new stories of gay paranormal romance, supernatural fiction and urban fantasy by ten top m/m paranormal authors.

Rhys Ford – Dim Sum Asylum
For Detective Roku MacCormick, working Arcane Crimes is his passion. Now cleared of any wrongdoing for shooting his last partner, MacCormick is given back his badge… as well as a new case and partner. Trent Leonard isn’t exactly what he’d expected, but then nothing in San Francisco’s Chinatown ever is.

Ginn Hale – Swift and the Black Dog
When Jack Swift killed a tyrant and won the revolution he became a national hero. But someone in the new government prefers dead heroes to living, swearing, cynical wizards. Caught between bullets, revenge and desire, Jack had better be swift indeed.

KJ Charles – A Queer Trade
Apprentice magician Crispin Tredarloe returns to London to find his master dead, and his papers sold. Papers with secrets that could spell death. Waste paper seller Ned Hall can’t resist Crispin’s pleading – and appealing – looks. But can the wasteman and the magician prevent a disaster and save Crispin’s skin?

Nicole Kimberling – Magically Delicious
Occult attacks against NIAD agents aren’t remotely Keith Curry’s department. But when his lover, Gunther, is assaulted, Keith refuses to just sit back and fill out paperwork. He’s on the case – even if that means enraging powerful mages, crossing leprechaun picket lines, or braving dinner with Gunther’s goblin parents.

Jordan Castillo Price – Everyone’s Afraid of Clowns
Psychic medium Victor Bayne can spot a ghost any day of the year, but Halloween holds some special surprises. His psych-groupie boyfriend Jacob coaxes him to the location of an old spirit sighting, but they can’t ghosthunt without enduring a cheesy “haunted house” that’s even more disturbing than they realize.

Jordan L. Hawk – The Thirteenth Hex
Hexman Dominic Kopecky doesn’t understand why dashing crow familiar Rook wants his help investigating murder by patent hex. For one thing, Dominic isn’t a witch. For another, the case is already closed – and someone is willing to kill to keep it that way.

Charlie Cochet – The Soldati Prince
Riley Murrough goes from serving lattes to being chased by demons. If that wasn’t bad enough, he bears the mark of a shapeshifter king from a magical realm. Riley’s determined to get answers, but if the demons out for his blood don’t kill him, the urge to strangle the arrogant king might.

Lou Harper – One Hex Too Many
Veteran detective Mike Mulligan is an expert on violent crimes – of the occult variety. He might even be cursed. Detective Hugh Fox is eager to partner up and prove himself, but Mulligan is accustomed to flying solo. Can they trust each other enough to track a killer who’ll stop at nothing, not even summoning a demon?

Andrea Speed – Josh of the Damned vs. the Bathroom of Doom
It’s a boring night at the Quik-Mart for Josh and his friend Doug. Until a vampire with a grudge – and the most adorable backup ever – crashes the store. Can Josh survive the Bathroom of Doom?

Astrid Amara – The Trouble With Hexes
P.I. Tim Keller has a problem. And the only person who can solve it is his ex-boyfriend, Vincent, whose job as a hexbreaker was the reason they broke up. It’s hard admitting he was wrong, especially when coughing up organs. But there’s a missing person to find, a hexmaker to hunt down, and a romance to repair before Tim breathes his last.

Ebook giveaway: Secrets and Bow Ties (Secrets #3) by Lou Harper [CONTEST CLOSED]

Congrats to Denise D, who won King’s Conquest (Mending the Rift #1) (2nd ed) by Valentina Heart!

Many thanks to Lou Harper for donating an ebook copy of her forthcoming m/m romantic suspense/mystery, Secrets and Bow Ties (Secrets #3), for a lucky commenter to win! Secrets and Bow Ties will be released by Samhain Publishing on May 19.

Who said nerdy can’t be sexy?

Self-confessed gold digger Dylan Price is cooling his heels as a waiter at a trendy West Hollywood restaurant, waiting for the sugar daddy of his dreams to walk through the doors. Someone rich, sophisticated. Preferably old.

Bookish Simon Wainwright couldn’t be further from Dylan’s ideal. Aside from his terrible fashion sense, Simon suffers from a glaring lack of a Beverly Hills mansion. And he’s barely over thirty!

Dylan, however, isn’t made of stone. Coincidence, an obscene candle, even Simon’s dorky cardigan compel him to give the shy academic a very special birthday gift, which Dylan files away as a one-night stand. But when Dylan’s quest lands him in hot water, he runs to Simon to hide.

The two take off for Las Vegas, where Dylan takes upon himself to give Simon a complete makeover. For reasons he can’t comprehend, Dylan begins to reevaluate his life – and what he holds most dear. But with danger not far behind, he might be too late.

Warning: Contains a nightclub where the staff is as hot as the food, a waiter with a smart mouth (in more ways than one), a nerdy college professor, Vegas “boylesque” shows, and lots of smexy times.

Ebook giveaway: Secrets and Charms (Secrets #2) by Lou Harper [CONTEST CLOSED]

Many thanks to Lou Harper for donating an ebook copy of her recently released m/m romantic suspense/mystery, Secrets and Charms (Secrets #2), for a lucky commenter to win!

One hot ginger. One cool blond. The result is anything but lukewarm.

Out and proud from a tender age, Olly Blackwood is content with life in LA, working at a Hollywood gourmet grocery. There’s only one thing missing: romance. He’s had his fill of casual hook-ups. He wants a man for keeps, and he wants sparks.

He certainly gets them when he meets Rich Willson, who has the stormy temper to go with his fiery hair. But is he keeper material? He might be if only he’d come out of the closet.

After losing his disapproving father, his job, his girlfriend, and pretty much all his money, Rich packed up his secrets and moved to his actress sister’s house to regroup and help her renovate. He doesn’t like the curmudgeon he’s become, but something about the perpetually cheerful Olly rubs him in a way that should be wrong, yet feels pretty damned right.

Over paint buckets and sanding tools, Rich finds Olly getting deeper under his skin. But when an altercation with a paparazzo comes back to haunt him, he finds that sordid Hollywood secrets can be murder – maybe his own.

Warning: Contains a hot-tempered ginger, a cool-headed blond, redecorating shenanigans, and sordid Hollywood secrets. Happy ending guaranteed or your ticket price refunded.

One bite won’t kill you. Unless it does.

Gabe Vadas’s slayer ancestors would be spinning in their graves if they knew that not only is his boss a vampire, so is his lover. But that lover, Harvey Feng, is cooking something up in his lab that he seems reluctant to disclose.

The secrets they keep from each other and the nightmares they share are driving a wedge between them.

Sent to New York City to help the new top vamp clean up the mess the old one left behind, Gabe finds more than a few stray feral vampires. A doctor with a dubious history is hell-bent on creating a new race of unkillable bloodsuckers.

The investigation takes Gabe and Harvey across an ocean, and deep into the past. Where they discover demons that have the power to reach across the centuries to destroy them both.

When Karma writes you a ticket, pay up or else…

If life was like the movies, Jem Mitchell’s wouldn’t be such a mess. In LA’s glittering world of dreams, he works an unglamorous job at a gourmet grocery store. His past is so deep and dark, the details are lost even to him. All he knows is he was once cursed by a meter maid, and ever since, his love life has sucked.

When Detective Nick Davies becomes a regular at the store, Jem dares to hope he’s un-hexed at last. He should have known that sex with a remarkably normal guy, devoid of weird fetishes and fatal personality flaws, was too good to be true.

During a post-encounter cuddle, Nick recognizes the tattoo on Jem’s back – and remembers him as a young hustler he arrested nine years past.

As Jem’s memories come crashing back, he flees from Nick, but fate contrives to keep pushing them back together. And when Jem’s old partner in crime is found murdered, the stakes are raised for life, for love, and a dangerous drama with no guarantee of a Hollywood ending.

Ebook giveaway: Summer Lovin’ Anthology by Clare London, Chrissy Munder, JL Merrow, Josephine Myles, & Lou Harper [CONTEST CLOSED]

Congrats to Kim W, who won the entire College Fun & Gays series by Erica Pike!

Many thanks to the authors of Pink Squirrel Press for donating an ebook copy of their freshly released Summer Lovin’ m/m romance anthology!

Summer is here, and the loving is easy! Slake your thirst for romance with Summer Lovin’ an anthology for lazy days and summer sunshine.

The stories are all m/m contemporary romances with a smattering of smut, but there’s a real range of locations and atmospheres here. Travel from Venice Beach in LA, via Lake Michigan, to the traditional British resort of Brighton, a remote holy island, and a small lake in deepest, darkest Somerset. Go skinny-dipping in a disused quarry. Hang out with the boys in the band. Meet a bad boy made good, and one with a shy smile that hides a dark secret. Or maybe get your heart pillaged by a Viking re-enactor.

With gentle humour, hot sauce and a hefty scoop of romance, enjoy a quintet of sultry stories of men loving men from Clare London, Chrissy Munder, JL Merrow, Josephine Myles, and Lou Harper.

The mercury’s not the only thing that’s rising!

Summer Hire by Chrissy Munder
It’s a scene right out of Jim’s porn-fuelled fantasies: the tool-strewn workshop and the hunky, tattooed mechanic with his coveralls unzipped to the waist. But Aaron’s not just Jim’s dream guy – he-s his new employer.

In the sweltering Michigan heat, Jim struggles to control his libido in the face of endless provocation. But Aaron’s determined not to be Jim’s summer fling. This bad boy made good isn’t looking for a short-lived romance.

If he wants Aaron to take him on as more than an employee, Jim’s going to have to do what doesn’t come naturally – and think seriously about his future.

Lost & Found on Lindisfarne by JL Merrow
It was a hot summer’s day on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. The lanes were dusty underfoot, the languid breeze was heavy with the scent of the North Sea, and a Viking had just offered to buy my daughter…

When single father Chris meets a Viking re-enactor on Lindisfarne, he thinks it’s the perfect recipe for a holiday fling – and nothing more. Chris had a relationship with a free spirit like Ian before, and it didn’t end well for him or for his daughter Kelis. But Chris hasn’t reckoned with the Viking way of taking all you’re willing to give – and coming back for more.

Salt ‘n’ Vinegar by Clare London
Brighton in the summer is a great place to be for a young gay man looking for a good time with no strings. Psychology student Joe’s spending his uni vacation working in a chip shop with a succession of ever-worse punning names and picking up guys on the beach for casual hook-ups – but something makes him want to take it slow with gorgeous chip shop regular Steven.

The trouble is, Steven’s shy smile hides a dark secret, and his past is about to come back to bite them both.

Werewolves of Venice Beach by Lou Harper
The naked man came out of nowhere…

Bryan’s an over-achieving, self-confessed nerdy student, who’s taken a summer job house-sitting in Venice Beach. He’s out of his depth when it comes to a guy from the wrong side of the tracks like Slade.

Covered in tribal tattoos and with a penchant for skinny-dipping, Slade’s the lead singer in a band. He’s way out of Bryan’s league. But he’s sending out all kinds of mixed signals. And after a pot-fuelled afternoon, Bryan thinks he’s found the astonishing reason why Slade’s giving so little away.

By Quarry Lake by Josephine Myles
Tommy’s been away from his home in rural Somerset for three years. Long enough to sort out who he is, and to get over the feelings of confusion and shame that blighted his lifelong friendship with farmer’s boy Rob. He’s out and proud, now – and he’s coming home to claim back what he lost.

Rob’s the one who stayed behind, working on the farm with little time for a social life. With Tommy coming back into his life, he could have a lot to gain – and everything to lose.

He’s going to have to take a leap of faith. Straight into the ice cold waters of Quarry Lake.

Ebook giveaway: Dead Man and the Restless Spirits by Lou Harper [CONTEST CLOSED]

Many thanks to Lou Harper for donating an ebook copy of her forthcoming paranormal m/m romance, Dead Man and the Restless Spirits, for a lucky commenter to win! Dead Man and the Restless Spirits will be released on June 25 by Harper Books.

Hi there. I’m Murmur, guest cat for the day. You can call me Murry, but only if you feed me tuna first. That’s basic etiquette when interacting with felines.

I’m here because if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. Humans have their uses, and we cats are good at making them do our bidding, but they tend to be clumsy. Just try to make them do something more complex than cleaning out the litter box or filling your bowl with food, and they’ll mess it up.

Take Bran, for example. He thinks he’s the boss, but in truth I’m his guardian. It’s my job to keep him out of major trouble and help him when he needs it, even if he doesn’t think he does. Humans not only lack the grace and agility that’s natural to us, but they can be incredibly pig-headed. Once they set their mind on something, no matter how misguided, no argument will convince them otherwise. It’s the job of cool cats, like yours truly, to fix the situation using our subtle skills of manipulation.

You see, a youthful mishap made Bran swear off relationships for good. Even when the skinny guy moved in next door and started hitting on Bran, the dimwit pretended not to notice. And Denton was his type too  – we cats have a sixth sense for these things. Alas, no amount of nagging or occult intervention could change the status quo. It was time for feline subterfuge.

Sometimes the best plans are the simplest. I need the two of them to meet face-to-face, to get into each other’s private space, to talk, and to touch. I knew if I managed that there would be a spark. So I made a leap from our balcony to Denton’s fire escape. The rest is history.

But I ramble. I came to recommend you Dead Man and the Restless Spirits. It does a decent job at recounting the events, even if I can’t help thinking it would’ve been better told from the point of view of the cat. Humans – what can you expect?

PS. I’m not portly! It’s all fur.

Dying sucks hairy monkey balls, even when you’re not the stiff.

Denton Mills has a secret: he can see dead people. Or rather, how they died. It’s quite a drag in a city like Chicago, teeming with the echoes of the no-longer living. Rather than whine about it, Denton has learned to live with his troublesome talent. His adaptability comes in handy when he meets his enigmatic new neighbor.

Bran Maurell catches Denton’s eye right away, but unfortunately Mr. Tall, Dark, and Mysterious is as standoffish as he is alluring. However, after an unexpected introduction from Bran’s cat brings the two men together, Denton discovers they have a mutual interest in the spirit world. Herbalist by day, Bran moonlights as a witch, performing house cleansings for a fee.

From Bran, Denton learns that his knack for interacting with the dead qualifies him as a necromancer. It makes good business sense for them to team up and rid Chicago of its pesky spirits one grateful client at a time. Amongst ghostly adventures the attraction between the men is impossible to ignore. They seem like perfect partners – unless Bran’s not-so-little secret comes between them.

Warning: Men loving men, ghosts with attitudes, and a portly feline with hidden talents.
Note: Denton also plays a small but important role in Spirit Sanguine.

Ebook giveaway: Spirit Sanguine by Lou Harper [CONTEST CLOSED]

Many thanks to Lou Harper for donating an ebook copy of her forthcoming paranormal m/m romance, Spirit Sanguine, for a lucky commenter to win! Spirit Sanguine will be released on April 30 by Samhain Publishing.

Is that a wooden stake in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

After five years in eastern Europe using his unique, inborn skills to slay bloodsuckers, Gabe is back in his hometown Chicago and feeling adrift. Until he’s kidnapped by a young, sexy vampire who seems more interested in getting into his pants than biting into his neck.

Harvey Feng is one-half Chinese, one-hundred-percent vampire. He warns Gabe to stay out of the Windy City, but somehow he isn’t surprised when the young slayer winds up on his doorstep. And why shouldn’t Gabe be curious? A vegetarian vampire isn’t something one sees every day.

Against their better judgment, slayer and vampire succumb to temptation. But their affair attracts unexpected attention.

When Chicago’s Vampire Boss makes Gabe an offer he can’t refuse, the unlikely lovers are thrust into peril and mystery in the dark heart of the Windy City. Together they hunt for kidnappers, a killer preying on young humans, and vicious vampire junkies.

However, dealing with murderous humans and vampires alike is easy compared to figuring out if there’s more to their relationship than hot, kinky sex.

Warning: Fangalicious man-on-man action, a troublesome twink, cross-dressing vampiress, and role-playing involving a fedora.
