Ebook giveaway: Son of a Gun (2nd ed) by AM Riley [CONTEST CLOSED]

Many thanks to AM Riley for donating ebook copies of her recently re-released m/m romantic suspense, Son of a Gun (2nd ed), to the first two people who answer the following questions correctly:

  1. Where did Stefan Sanchez grow up?
  2. What happened to his father?
  3. What does he do for a living?
  4. Which NHL hockey team will win the Stanley Cup this year?

Do your own work, because there’s no guarantee the previous commenter answered correctly. 😉

CONTEST CLOSED. Congrats, Yvette and DebraG!

This is a newly edited version; the first edition was released under MLR Press in 2010.

Stefan Sanchez,s number one reason to flee Boerne, Texas, twelve years ago, was closeted deputy Chet Blain. Since then he has lived in Los Angeles, become a successful author of children’s books and managed his sexual relationships with a certain cool cynicism.

When Stefan returns to Texas for the funeral of his best friend, Tommy, he is confronted by painful memories: His infamous father, shot as a traitor, his alcoholic mother, and Chet, who seems to want to start their old painful relationship all over again. Added to this is a missing widow, drugs in the trunk of his rental car, and a hunky Secret Service agent who seems determined to make Stefan’s business his business.

It all ends in a mad chase across the infamously haunted Devil’s Backbone where ghosts from the past and personal demons in the present all conspire to give Stefan a chance to close the book on his childhood forever… or die trying.

Ebook giveaway: Sole Support by Kaje Harper [CONTEST CLOSED]

Many thanks to Kaje Harper for donating an ebook copy two ebook copies of her forthcoming m/m romance, Sole Support, for a lucky commenters to win! Sole Support will be released by Samhain Publishing on June 4. Thanks to Kaje for donating a second copy after we hit 100 comments!

He can find a use for his lover’s hands…except when he needs help the most.

Kellen is short on cash – at least until his first novel starts to sell – but he has plenty of friends. None of them, unfortunately, share his love of books. For that he turns to IM chats with Mike from his online book group.

Though he manages to coax the shy, socially inept pathologist into a real-time meeting, Kellen has no intention of letting his new friend become more than a casual lover. Shaky finances and ailing mother aside, self-sufficiency is Kellen’s prime directive.

Mike considers himself a nerd of the highest order – short, bespectacled, prone to blurting out the wrong thing at the worst possible time. Meeting Kellen face to face is the biggest risk of his life, and he wonders if they’ll get more body parts together than just their faces.

First meeting leads to first date – first everything for Mike – and soon Kellen’s faced with breaking his just-friends-with-benefits rule. Yet as his elderly mother wanders deeper into senility, Kellen wonders if it’s better to lean on Mike rather than fall.

Product Warnings
Contains an emotional love story between a too-proud-for-his-own-good writer with an allergy to the L-word, and a painfully shy scientist who takes his sisters’ nagging to “get out there” literally. Oh, and an adorable stray cat.

About Kaje

I live in Minnesota (where the two seasons are snow removal and road-repair, and the mosquito is the state bird, and where sometimes in winter it is so beautiful you can’t breathe for gazing at it). I have been writing for longer than I care to admit, and currently am focused on writing m/m romance. I have an interview on the BookWenches site that is more biographical, for those who are interested.

My first professionally published book, Life Lessons, came out from MLR Press in May 2011. This was the first thing I had submitted anywhere and I was thrilled when it was accepted. And now I have other work in print, both free and professionally published. This writing thing is addictive. So read, comment, tell me what you like and what you don’t, and help me make the upcoming books even better.

You can find out more about Kaje and her books on her blog and at Goodreads.

Ebook giveaway: Save the Date by Kate McMurray [CONTEST CLOSED]

Many thanks to Kate McMurray for donating an ebook copy of her forthcoming m/m romance, Save the Date, for a lucky commenter to win! Save the Date will be released on June 4 by Loose Id.

Tristan knows he and his ex-boyfriend Stuart were not meant to be, but that doesn’t make the invitation to Stuart’s wedding any less of a punch in the face. Tris decides that the only thing for it is to find a super hot date to prove to Stuart that he’s moved on and is doing just fine, thanks.

The path to the altar is fraught with obstacles, however, and Tris has to deal with the wilds of online dating, wardrobe malfunctions, men who look like pirates, emotional baggage, grooms with cold feet, and sports team rivalries before he even gets to the wedding. But when Tris stumbles on love in the last place he expects, he’ll need to let go of the past in order to move forward.

Linkity would celebrate, but too tired

No Misadventure on Monday because it’s a holiday in the US! Hope everyone has a great weekend. 🙂

Randonymity

  • The project from hell deployed Wednesday. Been a while since I was in the office for 15 hours. Let’s hope it’s a while before I have to do that again.
  • Let’s hope that I start to sleep a little better now. Fours of sleep/night is not cutting it. *yawn* So, so, so tired.
  • Linkity’s going to be briefish because of that!
  • Still don’t feel like I’ll ever catch up…
