Celestine attack!

At long last, Celestine is complete. Whew! It’s very cute, but dang, was it ever fiddly. And I’m still traumatized from weaving 24 ends into such a small project.

*nom nom nom nom nom* -Mayhem

What the heck?! I swear I didn’t put any nip in the stuffing – this is a gift for a human, not a cat.

“Wheeeeeeeeee!” -Mayhem

“Take that! And that! And that, too!” -Mayhem

“What do you mean, this isn’t for me and I have to give it back now?! No! I won’t let go! Mine!!” -Mayhem

  1. Aww, how can you take that away from her? You’ll just have to knit another one!

It’s extra gorgeous because you wove the ends! Are you one of those knitters who believe that knots will work their way to the public side?

  2. That looks lovely!

Mayhem’s got a bit of a Charleton Heston “from my cold, dead hands” look here, though. I think you may have to knit another of those things…

  3. Oh, how cute is that! Lucky recipient…! 😀

Those pictures of May are just too funny, it seems you may have to make her one (which she’ll probably promptly ignore!).

  4. Store-bought for the human. I think May just might hunt it down if you give it away…

(I’ve been planning to make one of those for a gift, too. It came out great! I’ll be tying knots though, thankyouverymuch.)

  5. Erm. Perhaps you might want to visit one of those national toy store emporiums and invest in a human toy. Doesn’t look like Mayhem’s listening to you.

  6. Chris- I don’t know why, but when we were kids we had a deflated soccer ball, and we used to call it a Moon Spider.

I think I may need to have one of those.

  7. You’re sure this baby’s parents are “special” enough to warrant 24 ends, right? If not, you’ve a volunteer to take it off your hands.

Imagine if you had used the Noro sock yarn. You would have had twice as many ends.

  8. Maybe it’s the chemical that’s used to make wool yarn into superwash that turns her on so?

I haven’t started mine yet. Working on a couple of Kureyon-chans first. 🙂

  9. I hope it came with a “Caution – Covered in Kitty Spit” warning tag for the human recipient! And no Sammy – you can’t have one!

  10. Okay, that’s a really neat cat toy. Even if it was inteneded for a human. And if I make it as a cat toy, I can not weave in the ends…..

  11. Are you sure you don’t want to knit another one? May seems pretty enamored with that one, and besides it was her birthday. 😉

  12. Very cute! I’m sure your friend will love it.

I’d say you need to make one for May, but if it was for her, she probably wouldn’t be as keen on it. You could do fewer color changes; I don’t know how much the stripes were what drew May. I’m guessing it was the wool.

  13. Not to mention the trauma Mayhem faced when you *stole* it from her.

It’s cute, but way too fiddly sounding for me. I can barely finish socks.

  14. Hey remember me? I love that! I need to make one for Finn…someday when I have more than five minutes to knit. I think you should make one for May too. That is a really cool ball, where did you find the pattern?

  15. Must keep my kitties away – I do not have time to knit a fiddly cat toy with 24 ends! It does look very cool, though and your kitties seem to appreciate the work 🙂
