Thank you post the second

Hard to believe it’s been nearly five weeks since my surgery! I’m feeling pretty good and continuing to go for walks most days. On Friday, I go in for a recheck and work release appointment. Where did the time go?!

Continuing on with the thank yous – MrsPao sent me two wonderful boxes! The first contained the book Twilight (excellent!), the Mountain Goats’ Nine Black Poppies cd, and a refillable catnip mouse that Mayhem is busily removing from the photo…

“Well, duh, this obviously isn’t for you, Mom.” -Mayhem

MrsPao also sent me some of those wonderful dark chocolate-covered rice cakes I love (um, there may have been three boxes), another book, and some lovely yarn – thank you so much!

“Hmph, where’s the cat toy this time?!” -Mayhem

Mind your manners there, Miss Mayhem!

TB sent wonderful tea, honey (with honeycomb), soap, a gluten-free spice cake mix, and kitty treats. Sorry I didn’t get a picture… thank you, TB!

Michaele sent me some much-needed pajama bottoms (when you’re convalescing and hanging out at home for weeks on end, you need lots of pjs!), black cat thank you cards, stunning sock yarn, and really tasty dried cherries. Thanks, Michaele!

“Dried cherries sound kind of tasty, Mom! Will you share? Do they taste like tuna?” -Mayhem

WendyG sent me more gorgeous sock yarn, a cute sock knitting bag, knitting coasters, knitting gift tags, kitty post-it notes, a little coffee notebook, and assorted kitty toys. In fact, Mayhem’s leaving the photo below with one of those little mice in her mouth… Thank you, Wendy!

“Dum de dum de dum…” -Mayhem

Amy gave me skein of Hollyhock Malabrigo laceweight and Miss T gave me two skeins of purple Panda Cotton. Hmm, do you think they figured out what colors I like?? Thanks to you both!

“Are hollyhocks like catnip?” -Chaos

Elspeth sent me some mix cds, some hand lotion, a cute black cat notepad, and a warm scarf that she made for me! Aw, thank you, E! Now, the big question is – will I be able to get the scarf away from Mayhem?!

“I feel pretty!” -Mayhem

“Oh, so pretty!” -Mayhem

“And so crazy!” -Mayhem

“Whew! I’m tired now.” -Mayhem

  1. Keep watching the mail!!!!

Oh May, you’re too funny! And so much like Gandalf the way you have to have your little nose into everything. Wow, you got some really great stuff!

  2. What a gorgeous scarf and delightful haul…
Chocolate covered rice thins? They’re good? Really?

I’m glad you’re on the way back to gainful employment now! *wink*

(I’d LOVE to have 5-6 weeks off to knit, but I don’t think I want to do it the way you had to! I’m glad you’re recovery has been swift!)
    (((((hugs)))))

  3. Chukkar Cherries are from Prosser WA, just a short and fun motorscooter ride thru the wine country from me. I love the sock yarn in the same picture. What’s the brand?

  4. Five weeks already? Wow – but it seems that your recovery has been smooth. Enjoy the treats, when you can pry them out of Mayhem’s dainty little claws!

  5. So glad you are feeling better – and you got such lovely things from your friends! Also – I am having a little contest over on my blog at the moment if you want to let everyone know – and join in yourself!
    Great pics of Mayhem!

  6. After seeing all of your nifty goodies I suddenly don’t feel (as) bad for not STILL getting your package out.

I just sent Mrs. Pao’s out today and it’s been like, months, since I told her I had something for her.

    I rule.

  7. Mayhem can wear it when she’s out, how’s that? Of course then it will be connected to the vet, so maybe not. Great purple yarn! Better get knitting!

  8. Mayhem, you’re a silly kitty and that scarf does look good wrapped around you. BTW, dried cherries taste as bad as wet cherries. Yuck.

Nice gifties! Where does the time go? And you’re feeling pretty good, yes? no complications?

  9. hee hee – I’ll bet that scarf had some alpaca or mohair in it for Mayhem to go so wild (grin) my cats would not have been quite so dignified about it, but simply dragged it off between their teeth like a trophy.
I am so delighted to hear how well you are healing. 5 weeks already, wow. a blink of an eye on this end.. hopefully it has gone fast for you as well, and your speedy healing continues.

  10. I think that May and Chaos should do a mouse toy review, similar to your book reviews, in which they review different brands of mice for the blog cats who read here. Which ones are the easiest to toss and pounce on, which last longest, which have the best catnip, etc.

So glad you are feeling better and have these wonderful books and yarns to enjoy!
