Some more words from Mayhem

Jeanne came over to knit Wednesday night and we watched my tape of The Lorax (first time my TV has been on since I watched Flatliners). Jeanne got a picture of Chaos’s secret shame, and he didn’t look at all happy about it!

I’m feeling really good. Much less tired. I’ve been going on walks about every other day – I would be going every day, but it has been so darn rainy. I think the flash flood warning must be permanent by now.

Have a good weekend, everyone!

  1. What do you do to them to get them to LIKE having their toenails clipped??? Mine hate it…

May is adorable in that shot! Such a sweet kitty!

    Whoohoo – walks! Congrats!

    Rain!?! I need rain…(we’re actually getting a little today…)
    🙂
    (((hugs)))

  2. That is the cutest picture ever.

Flatliners…man, I love that movie. Every time I think of it I think of that one girl in the videotape talking to the guy who was like, a videotaping sex maniac (I can’t remember his name), where she says, “We can lie together and hold each other in our underwear.” LOL.

  3. Okay I’ve got to know how you get Chaos to come running for nail clipping. I can do that with the ferrets but Katie just runs the other way.

Yay for walks! Congrats. Maybe you’ll get more sunshine now that we’re getting downpours and tornados.

  4. Glad to hear you’re feeling better! I’m very impressed by your cat training skills. I’ve given up on both nail trimming and tooth brushing for my cats — I think you need to start when they’re young. My ladies were 8 when they came to me, and a little too set in their ways.

  5. when you are able to figure out the trick to get the kitties to “come” for a nail trim, let me know. with mine, it’s always a game of ‘chase’ for 30 minutes and then we get the trim.

  6. May is such a sweetheart! Poor Chaos! First outed as a crabby kitty, then losing his Fortress of Solitude to a teenage girl kitty, and now toe nail clipping on the internet for all to see. He deserves some tuna. 😉

Have a great weekend! I hope you get some sun.

  7. What’s your secret? One of my cats hate toenail clipping (always has) so much that my husband and I have to double-team her to get it done: we wrap her burrito-style in a towel, then I comfort/cajole her while he carefully pulls out one paw at a time for the trimming. Sometimes we get no more than one paw done before we let her go lest someone lose an eye.

    Have a great weekend!

  8. Where has May got herself tucked away? It looks like an incredibly small space? I am studiously ignoring Chaos’ humiliation so that he may retain some dignity.

  9. I’m amazed they come running. Sheesh – how did you manage to brainwash them??? Lotus got so mad when my husband clipped her nail (yes, one), that she didn’t speak to him for days! He won’t do it again – he’s very sensitive to Lotus’ silent treatment.

  10. ?????They come running to get nails clipped???? what’s the secret? Gotta get some of that grooming mojo going for the doggies here.

  11. Girl, I quit reading blogs for a couple of weeks, and look what happens! I hope you are recovering nicely from your surgery. Listen to that smart kitty and take lots of naps.

  12. So glad you’re feeling better! And you obviously DO have Chaos and May well trained for that nail-trimming thing. Chappy lets me do his, but hates it . . . He’ll sit next to me, everything still EXCEPT the paw I’m trying to work on!

  13. Chaos ‘glows’ with excitement at being groomed —– that’s really weird.
Pearl Phyllis needs to be in a head-lock and even then claw clipping leaves me al scratchedd.
    Really cute pants,
keep up the rest and light exercise, don’t over do it!!
    =^. .^=

  14. That is the cutest picture of Mayhem I’ve seen! (Except the ‘tocks one, of course — but I can’t see her face in that one.)

Thanks. The day has been brutal.

  15. Your cats come *running* when you get out the nail clippers?!?! I’m impressed!
When I see one of my cats in a box I threaten to mail them to Abu Dhabi;)

  16. It’s good to see you are feeling better. But would you consider sending some of that rain here? We are about one month away from running out of water with no significant rain in sight.

  17. May is so cute it’s hard not to listen to her and take a nap.

Please tell me your brainwashing secrets. Is it that magical fish toy? Does it hypnotize: you.will.like.nail.trims? It takes two of us to hold Tim and clip his nails, and at least 4 treats.

  18. You really should listen to May. She may be little, but I think she’s on to something… As for her brother, he joins the ranks of cats who like strange things…

  19. Napping is a Good Thing and I’m glad to hear you’re taking them. And walking. And wasn’t Good Omens great? I can’t believe I hadn’t read it until recently.
