I used to internet date. Now I read blogs instead. Knitting, reading, bicycling, and cat parenting. It's a wild life.

Love actually is a good pic, and if you like Colin Firth (I do) I really like The Importance of Being Ernest. Hilarious!!!! I also like Nanny McPhee- but I do have 4 munchkins (albeit one not old enough yet to watch!)The color of the socks is great (being a late commenter I know you chose stockinette- I like it!)

I would go for stockinette b/c the pattern doesn't really show up well with the self-patterning yarn.

I haven't heard of Chris Grabenstein. I'll have to look for that. I started out reading the Maggody series, but started to tire of it pretty soon, although it is usually a bit funny when I pick it up. I do prefer the Claire Malloy series more too.

As much as I prefer to knit sock with stitch patterns, your yarn would be best served as a dish of plain, no-extra-stuff ice cream. It's lovely-all by itself. Stockinette. 9-to-5 needs one of your always wonderful, gradiated hand dyed sock yarns. Like the blue that we all covet. DIC Smoshy? STR semi-solids? Show of those stitches.

9-5 looks good with the patterning... but I'll admit to preferring the stockinette.
