It should’ve been Friday days ago…

This is going to wander a bit. ๐Ÿ™‚ I definitely need to start with a few things that make me happy:

  • Eating peanut butter off the knife while I wait for my toast in the morning.
  • Fixing a knitting mistake without ripping back.
  • Playing fetch with May when she brings the mouse/fluff ball close enough for me to throw it for her – and also the soft “pooft-plop” as she careens headlong into the front door in pursuit of her toys while fetching.
  • Listening to Chaos’ breathy little cat snoring – this is probably the only cute snoring I can think of!
  • The word “tohubohu” (TOH-hoo-BO-hoo), which means chaos or confusion.

Reading Update (because reading definitely makes me happy)
Operation Hell Gate: 24 Declassified by Marc Cerasini. “…a number of early CTU missions were declassified. The following is one of them…” Entertaining, if not great literature.
Night Vision: A Jane Lawless Mystery by Ellen Hart. This series is set in the Twin Cities and features restaurateur Jane Lawless and her theatrical friend Cordelia Thorn. This is a very well-written series, but it definitely isn’t a cozy. The latest book examines celebrity stalking.

It has just been one of those weeks. I’m feeling pretty healthy at least – even with working until 5 am Thursday! Yeah, still haven’t recovered from that one – but at least I was able to work from home. I’m not the only one who’s sleepy…

“How is a kitten girl supposed to get her beauty sleep with that thing flashing in her face?!” -M

That didn’t seem to bother Chaos. Hope you all have a good weekend and that the Daylight Savings Time change doesn’t mess up your sleep.

“…zzzzzzzzzzz…” -C

  1. Ugh – 5 am. I thought my email from you came at an ungodly hour – and now I was right! Have a great weekend full of ball/mouse/toy chasing and relaxing!

  2. Boooo….spring forward stinks. I love that “pooft-plop” too! And the face our cat makes afterward. ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a lovely weekend!

  3. Not happy about the month-too-early change, myself. But it is what it is, I guess.

Mmmmm peanut butter mmmmm but it’s better with chocolate ๐Ÿ˜‰ I should get some nutella, I love love love peanut butter and nutella sammiches. What! It’s good!

  4. Heh heh…now you have a name for your next kitty!

Ugh, DST. No. More. Server. Patches. I hear you, it’s been a busy week for us at work too.

    Kitty snoring is so cute!

  5. Chris- Toast, schmoast- grab a spoon and go for it.

Up here in Eskimo Land (Toronto) this is early to switch to DST. And I always wonder, just where does that hour go?

Not to worry, Chaos and May are not bothered.

  6. Am I the only person that isn’t even the tiniest bit ticked off about early DST?

Yes, kitty snores are the best snores around. I love the twitchy paws while they sleep, too.

  7. spring forward is not my favorite. my cosmo snores too! only when he’s really tired (from a loonnggg day) and it just sounds like air escaping his lip. (pheeeeeeewwwwww…. phhhh…..)

  8. I’m not a happy person about losing an hour EVER…but a month early? yech.
    Kitty snores…(sigh) Lovely.
Have a great weekend – we ALL deserve it!
    (((hugs)))

  9. Hate Daylight Savings Time. It definitely messes up my sleep, and it definitely does not make me happy. If I’m going to feel jetlagged, I should at least have had the pleasure of a trip to Europe.

  10. I’m glad to hear that you’re feeling better. Terry also loves to play fetch, but drops his mouse just out of arms reach for me!
Isn’t kitty snoring the sweetest/cutest sound?!

  11. sweet sleepy kitties – get your rest (take their example ;o) Oh ๐Ÿ™ I miss my Sallycat how she used to also run into the door *Whoomp* playing mouse.

  12. Cat snoring is awesome. We usually have both cats snoring on our heads, with our big boy dog snoring next to our bed too. My wife claims I snore too, but I don’t believe her.

  13. Haha, Emma is just like May, I totally insult her dignity when I get her picture. And Dallas? He’s like, what’s that thing you’re looking into?

  14. I know what you mean, this has been the longest and yet the busiest week for me. I had completely forgotten about the time change.

  15. I’m a peanut butter on celery girl myself, although I have been known to eat it from the jar.

Chaos has it right! I hope we all get to sleep as well as he does this weekend.

Love tohubohu! I wonder if I can work it into my lab meeting presentation today.

  16. 5 am? Are you crazy? Lucky me – my mornings will stay light – no daylight-saving time in Arizona. My cats are already getting up earlier…feels like summer!

  17. Oh you had to remind me. Cripes, I think I hate every stupid bill that G.W. has passed, I don’t know hich I hate more, the Patriot Act or early daylight savings time. Sorry, I’m growchy.

*sigh* lovin’ the bean toes there Chaos.

  18. My dog runs into the front door when he’s fetching his toys too. Only it’s not a รขโ‚ฌล“pooft-plopรขโ‚ฌย sound. It’s more like a “KA-POW” one. Doesn’t seem to phase him though. He wasn’t all that bright to begin with. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  19. I HATE the time change! Katie does the pooft-plop into the cabinet doors when she’s playing soccer with her food. Hope you and May are able to catch up on your sleep this weekend.

  20. I loathe time change too. I might be ranting about it for awhile.

5am? Yowza. At least my long days aren’t that long!

Aw, Chaos snores! Isn’t it a cute sound? I miss Sheba snoring at me.

  21. It has been quite the week, and I’m looking forward to some good rest, knitting, and maybe even reading time! Your mysteries have me longing for a good read.

I am glad for DST. I don’t like feeling sleepy at 6pm, even if I do stay up til midnight!

Have a good weekend, and hugs to C and M from me.

  22. tohubohu! great word! I’ll have to incorporate it, as in when Sid comes over, it is surely tohubohu around here. I’m a bit fritzed from two days at a flower show…fun to be out w/ the public (and paid!), but yesterday started at 8:30 am and ended at 10 pm. And I talked to a LOT of folks, not all 850 that stopped by, but enough! So laundry, knitting, blogging, they are all pretty appealing to me today.

  23. It sounds like this time change is going to create a whole lot of grumpiness — me included! Ah, well. Summer is coming. Looks like Chaos is hibernating until then.
