Reading Update
How to Be an AntiracistHow to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X Kendi. This is not a “how to” book. It’s an autobiographical account of the author’s journey from racism to antiracism, with many asides setting historical context. It’s good, but it is not an easy read, in the somewhat tangled way books with an academic bent can have.
A Good Time for the Truth: Race in MinnesotaA Good Time for the Truth: Race in Minnesota ed Sun Yung Shin. Excellent, eminently readable collection of thoughtful, thought provoking essays.
Black History In Its Own WordsBlack History in Its Own Words by Ron Wimberly. Slim collection of illustrated quotes from Black history makers.

  1. I’ve been trying to cut down on doomscrolling. Instead of opening Twitter on my phone, I’m trying to open a ebook app. It works sometimes.

I love the unexpected alpaca. Also the addition of birds to the vintage photos!

Yup. That totally fixed the cat lady trope. I approve.

  2. Some excellent coronavirus links there, thanks. Re: butts. Back in one of my art history classes, the professor showed a rear view of Michelangelo’s David; its butt looked just like my husband’s!
