In which we find evidence that I need to vacuum

Cara is having a contest to celebrate her upcoming January One birthday. Read the clues and guess what sock she’s knitting before December 31, 10 am EST, and you could win some not-yet-for-sale STR yarn and other goodies.

Kristi is looking for a baby whisperer (and celebrating her blogiversary) – leave her a comment with tips for getting both of her twins asleep at the same time and you could win some fibery gifts (and provide relief to some exhausted parents!). Deadline is January 4, 11 pm EST.

I’ve come to the conclusion that Typepad hates me this week. I’m having trouble commenting on Typepad blogs – pages load really slow and I (eventually) get error messages when I click “Post.” This is happening in both Firefox and IE – anyone have any ideas what might be the problem?! Much appreciated… If you’re on Typepad, really, I still love you. I just can’t comment! 🙂

I got nothin’… Look! Over there! A kitten!

“How can you resist such perfect cuteness?” -M

“You know you don’t want to resist… Hey, Mom, you need to vacuum in here! That’s not my hair.” -M

“I can’t bear to look at evidence of such slovenly housekeeping. I must avert my eyes!” -M

  1. Typepad tells me, when I comment, that my comment is spam 🙁 but then allows me to type in the verification “word” and posts the comment just fine. Whatever.

Luckily I know enough to check your blog daily b/c you are such a faithful blogger. Bloglines can’t fool me!

  2. It is true that such cuteness is hard to resist…About your typepad issues, don’t worry, the little green men who run the internet will stop being asses soon enough…

  3. Pictures of May are always good. It’s a good thing May isn’t at my house. 🙂

No suggestions on the posting problem. For once, I haven’t had any problems posting comments anywhere this week.

  4. Hey May, come on over and see our place! We left gifties for Mom on the floor while she was away! Then we batted it around, just for the fun of it!

    Love,

    Atticus, Mae and Gandalf

  5. I’m sorry Typepad isn’t working. But then, I haven’t posted today, so I don’t know what’s going on.

Have you read anything by Lisa See? She was recommended to me. I’ve got two of her books from the library but haven’t started them yet, myself, but they sound very good.

    Check out her site, lisasee.com

  6. I’ve been having problems with Typepad blogs, too. I’ve had to refresh them to get them to load properly. Usually it’s blogger that doesn’t want to display properly. And I’m just about at the end of my rope with Bloglines – I do not see any rhyme or reason to their updates. Luckily, I love blogs!

  7. Let’s not even start on my carpet. It’s very dirty and wet, since there’s so much freaking snow in NM! When will it stop? I just want clean carpets again!

I would take a dog picture to distract you from it’s dirtiness, but May is much cuter 🙂

  8. Ah! So cute kitten!

Typepad does weird things with some anti-virus software. You didn’t suddenly add Norton, did you? Because that’s why I couldn’t comment on your blog for ages after you moved here–my stupid Norton Anti-Virus was blocking some crucial program string or some such.

  9. I’d love to vacuum but my machine DIED…as in picks up the stuff and spits it right back out! YUCK…
(The Meezer and pals, on the other hand, are quite pleased with this development as they HATE the noise the thing makes!)
Mistress Mayhem is, as always, adorable!
    (((hugs)))

  10. May is too cute! Averting her eyes. ROTFL.

The only issues I’ve had lately are having to type out my entire address. Well, that and having to type the verification word 800 times, but for me, that’s normal.

I doubt it’s you. It’s always THEM. At least that’s my theory.

  11. Tell May to get out the vacuum herself if she’s so concerned about the carpet.
Try clearing out your browser cache. Sometimes when Typepad is being weird, that helps.
    Happy New Year to you!

  12. I’ve been getting the same message as kmkat when commenting on Typepad blogs today.

“Your comment has not been posted because the computer you are using appears on a list of machines exploitable by spammers. You can fix the problem by consulting the following results:..(removed because they refer to my IP address)

    Check out spamhouse.org.

  13. happy new year!!!

i am home celebrating with br and the kids! earl licked the spumante off the balcony! napoleon broke into a bag!

    yay!

  14. What? No post in days? I mean, I haven’t, but I expect more from you. 😉

OTOH, such cute May pictures. I love that expression she has in the middle pic.
