Reading Update
Ex Libris: Stories of Librarians, Libraries, and LoreEx Libris: Stories of Libraries, Librarians, and Lore edited by Paula Guran. Excellent collection of short stories that’s exactly what it says on the tin. I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed an anthology this much. I did skip one story due to it having a serial killer sort of vibe, which is not my thing. And there’s one story with a librarian I suspect is based on or an homage to the angel Aziraphale from Good Omens, which pleased me greatly.

  1. I saw that rotary cellphone the other day, and all I could think of was how I would get impatient with how slow the phone dial would return, and would try to force it back faster with my finger so I could dial the next digit.

    1. Yeah, dial phones were all we had when I was a kid. Imagine trying to win concert tickets on a dial phone. Without speed dial or last number redial. You better believe we were trying to crank that dial back around. You’d be surprised how much resistance there was. If you did manage to force it, you probably broke it. Which was a big hassle, because back then all the phones were the property of the phone company, and you had pay for the broken one, and put a hefty deposit on the new one.

  2. That story of the Slytherin at the Triwizard Tournament is what I needed today. Thank you for that.

I love the writer tees! Too fun.

Sigh. I miss the Obamas. I hope the girls have as normal a life as they can, though.

    Love to the kittehs!
