In which I reveal one of the scarier knitting pattern pictures I’ve seen in a long time

Jeanne recently went to Stitches and brought back goodies for Deb and I – check out the gorgeous Miss Babs sock yarn on the left in the picture below! It came in that adorable takeout container. Thank you so much, Jeanne!

The STR is a skein of Grawk that I won by donating to Teyani’s Carnegie Hall trip fund. Thank you, Teyani!

“I’m pretty sure I don’t like being used as a prop.” -Mayhem

Recently, Tink mentioned she’d come across something perfect for me at a flea market. I was a bit afeared, I must admit… until I almost hurt myself laughing when I received the package! That kitty card in the lower right corner with all the kitty’s salacious bits blacked out?! Hee hee.

The Crafts-Man-Ship pattern booklet is… really special. Really special. Want proof?

Sorry about the nightmares you’ll have now. Um, thanks, Tink! 😉

“Hmm, maybe there are benefits to being a prop.” *nom nom nom* -Mayhem

“In fact, I’m sure Mom won’t even notice me nomming on this yarn, since I’m a prop and all.” -Mayhem

Mayhem was so, so wrong about that… No yarn was harmed! But, as always, it was a close call.

  1. Oh, that’s just gross. If I made something like that for my Chris, he’d bolt. *shudder*

What great yarn! Do you think we own any knitted item that does not have cat hair worked into it?!

  2. You are going to love the Grawk – it knits up into such a beautiful fabric. Do you do Medium or Lightweight STR?

  3. I love the postcard…and the transparent kitty leg to the left of the picture. 😉

That striped pullover is going to give me nightmares. Same with the guy wearing it.

  4. Ooooh. That Crafts-Man-Ship sweater is soooo sexay!!! Not. I take it those are supposedly the grooviest fashions for sailing?

I see that May is helpfully pointing out the pattern that she thinks you need to make – that fabulous skirt and vest set.

  5. A lot of the younger women in lab dress in tops and belts eerily similar to what that man is wearing.

    No nom-nomming the yarn, May!

  6. Love the transparent kitty paw in the corner. Is “grawk” the new word for black? That hats and mittens book might actually be useful — check out the red and white socks in the center. They make me think of yin/yang.

  7. Does Mayhem want you to make that outfit she’s pointing out for herself or for you?

No yarn nomming? AND no tiara? Poor Mayhem is quite, quite abused.

  8. Oh my God… can’t look at the striped pullover.

Nice yarn though! Certainly Mayhem seems to think so. 🙂 Plus I like that little take-out box.

  9. I looked through those books half a dozen times before I mailed them and they STILL crack me up. Wouldn’t those sweaters be awful boating wear? I mean, what if they got wet? Although really, how much worse could it get?

  10. hilarious old patterns.
glad you enjoy the grawk – and thanks again for all your support on my fund raiser. I can’t wait to see how that yarn knits up ;-D
