  1. I used to make a recipe similar to that green chile casserole that was one of my go-to recipes for pot lucks. Great since it was gluten-free. But now too many friends are lactose-intolerant, so I can only remember it fondly. Hubby doesn’t like green chiles, so I don’t make it for myself. *weep*

  2. The cover snark made me laugh out loud this week. I particularly loved the commenter who said the final cover ‘makes dating a dragon seem relatively safe and sane’ in comparison. 😀

  3. Re: eclipse; I just ordered two pairs of ISO 12312-2 rated glasses to watch it. Of course, after I placed the order Smokey reminded me that he has welding goggles. | The amicus curiae brief is awesome! | Sherry Englebretsen, mentioned in the linked Strib article, was the wife of a co-worker. We were a 5-person department, so I knew her fairly well. | My mother used to make strawberry freezer jam. It was the very best jam EVER. Tasted like fresh strawberries. I have often lamented that I never got her recipe. Thank you!
