My poor Chaos Kitty…

Ginger is having a “how many socks would a woodchuck knit if a woodchuck could knit socks” contest – for contest details and to submit your answer, drop by her blog before midnight Pacific Time on September 30. You could win sock yarn!

Two contesty sorts of things that don’t have prizes but are fun anyway:

  1. Tink is having a contest to choose her new blog look.
  2. Crazy Aunt Purl wants to see people’s knitting spots. Since we all took pictures to show Scout the same thing, this should be easy!

I won Kate’s “Look Back and Cringe” contest! All hail the random number generator.

My poor Chaos Kitty. Let’s just say that there were issues (fortunately not having to do with eating something inappropriate), that involved his butt getting shaved and devolving from there… He’s taking antibiotic liquid and we have antiobiotic ointment to apply, so hopefully he heals quickly – especially his wounded dignity!

Send him your healthy thoughts, please. Thank you.

  1. Oh, Chappy can SO sympathize! Poor Chaos!

And, I’ll just mention to you (since I do this for Chappy, and the digestive principles are the same for dogs, cats, and humans) that antibiotics can wreak havoc with the digestion by killing off the good bacteria that help break down food. But that this can be counteracted by “probiotic” supplements like yogurt with active cultures. While he’s on an antibiotic (or when I am, for that matter), Chappy gets a good spoonful of Stonyfield farm yogurt with every meal . . . and for several weeks afterward. It helps his tummy feel better!

  2. awww poor Chaos! I’m sure mum will take good care of you and keep little mayhem from bugging you too much. Don’t be too hard on her though, she just loooves her big brother 🙂
    *hugs*

  3. Hi, Chaos —

We’re so sorry this is happening to you. There’s one good thing about having to take medicine, though — our mom mixes it in chicken-flavored baby food. YUM! Whenever one of us has to take medicine, we both get baby food — and Simon takes medicine every day!

  4. We hope you get better quick, Chaos!

Pugsley wanted to include a little note of his own…
Chaos, I just hope that your mom doesn’t knit you any pants to wear while the fur grows back. I’ve been forced to wear sweaters before, and while they think it looks cute, we know better. Someday I’ll get her back for that whole sweater thing…

  5. Oh man! Chaos and Fee are in the shaved butt club! Fee doesn’t seem to have any modesty at all about it, though I originally wanted to get her some pants. I’m sorry your kitty is sick, and may you be able to look at him from frontside angles for the next six weeks or so.
