Many thanks to Piper Vaughn for donating an ebook copy of her forthcoming m/m historical paranormal romance, Love Rising (Isla Sagario #1), for a lucky commenter to win! Love Rising will be released by Dreamspinner Press on January 1.

In the 1700s on the island of Sagrario, men who love other men find safe haven. For Francis Holland, an escaped indentured servant, Sagrario offers nothing but loneliness. His life begins to change when he finds Wick, a merman, washed ashore.

When Wick awakens under Francis’s care, Francis returns him to the sea at his request. Soon after, they begin to meet in secret, and gradually, Francis blossoms under this new companionship. However, a merman is a difficult creature to entrust one’s heart to. With one trapped on land and the other at sea, the differences in their species threaten to keep them apart forever. It may not be long before Wick is gone, taking Francis’s reason to smile with him.

About Piper

Piper Vaughn wrote her first love story at eleven and never looked back. Since then, she’s known that writing in some form was exactly what she wanted to do. A reader at the core, Piper loves nothing more than getting lost in a great book – fantasy, young adult, romance, she loves them all (and has a thousand book library to prove it!). She grew up in Chicago, in an ethnically diverse neighborhood, and loves to put faces and characters of every ethnicity in her stories, so her fictional worlds are as colorful as the real one. Above all, she believes that everyone needs a little true love in their life…even if it’s only in a book. You can find out more about Piper at her website, Facebook, Twitter, and joint blog with M.J O’Shea.

  1. Mayhem, your taste is impeccable! 🙂 Merry Christmas to you all.

This tale from Ms Vaughn sounds really sweet, please count me in.

  2. UK boxes come highly recommended in this house …. though must be kept away from stairs… because otherwise they become kitty toboggans … which results in slightly concussed cats when they hit the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs…

  3. There is absolutely nothing sweeter than a cat in a box. They are so happy.
    Please count me in. Thanks.

  4. Please include me too. Wishing you and the kitties a very Merry Christmas! Maybe Chaos can find a bigger box to relax in.

  5. I want this book for the cover alone. It’s gorgeous, and I’m looking forward to the story inside. Thank you!

  6. different from what I usually read, but for Piper, I’m willing to give it a shot! count me in please!

  7. Hi, count me in. Your cat reminds me of mine a nephew, Casper. He’s one and a half and loves to sleep in odd places also. (He’s also pure black apart from a white tuff on his stomache.)

  8. Haven’t been here in a while 🙁 I’d love to participate as well. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! Thanks for the giveaway.

    Yep, I’m entering.
All my cats love boxes too!
Suitcases and briefcases also seem to attract them also. I took a rolling suitcase to work with all by crafting stuff to work in Oct – Nov making Christmas decorations. Every evening they would curl up on top of the suitcase and my messenger bag.

  10. Please count me in! I’m so looking forward to this book – historical paranormals are one of my fave sub genres, so I’m excited to see how Piper Vaughn tackles it. 🙂
