  1. I like the diversity piece, but I feel that with the YA fantasy I read that there is a fair amount of diversity there. It might just be my favorite authors, but maybe it is easier to write from the perspective of the past when portraying other cultures rather than trying to get current cultural norms/mores to flow for a story. Interesting either way.
