The Misadventures vacation continues!

Friday night at around 7:45 pm, I noticed that it was nearly completely black outside – not normal when the sun doesn’t set until 9 pm. And then the severe thunderstorm hit, with winds gusting to nearly 70 mph in some places. At 8 pm, I lost power for the next 30 hours.

More about the storm from the Star Tribune and Minnesota Public Radio.

Some scenes from my neighborhood on Saturday – click to embiggen.

“The storm was very, very scary!! I hid under the couch for safety.” -Mayhem

  1. How scary! Wow, what a terrible storm especially with lightening, thunder and high velocity winds!
A couple of years ago, there was an unusual high wind night where I thought the windows were going to crack and the roof tiles would going to be ripped off. It caused a lot of damage in other neighborhoods and an power outage for many days in certain places.
Glad you and the kitties are safe. 🙂

  2. Poor May! I’m so glad you’re all safe! By the way – did you happen to find any naughty boys hiding under the couch? They seem to have been misplaced. I keep checking under my couch, but no luck so far.

  3. Glad you’re all ok! Hope the new condo is also ok. 30 hours without power, though…I hope you had candles or a torch.
