Although this picture of Mayhem was taken before our big misadventure, it’s similar to how she looks right as she realizes I’m about to give her antibiotics and put in eye ointment – at which point she curls into a little ball and puts her front paws over her face. Awwww!
Damned, for once May can be mad about the naughty boy, and she’s too busy not getting her meds, poor May

Yes, he is. And his hair looks dirty.
Poor May! In grad school, I took care of my mentor’s cats when he and his wife traveled. Once I had to give the male antibiotic pills. I thought I was doomed, but they had trained the cat very well. Jean Luc knew he would get a morsel of cooked sirloin if he swallowed the pill. He ate the pill out of my hand. I don’t know how my mentor trained that cat. It was a miracle.

Shaggy is good, looking like one needs a good shampoo is something else entirely. One of our babies, Kachina, needs antibiotics. We wrap her in a nice thick towel to control her “enthusiastic response” to taking her medicine.

About the hair? I still see plenty of young ones with that do. I’ve always liked the longish hair though so I don’t really mind seeing it in the covers.
