Scene of a crime?

Thanks, all – the “my grain” was pretty much gone on Friday. Let us pause to honor good drugs and sleep… Turns out I couldn’t entirely blame that impaired cognitive function on work – it was pre-migraine fun. And of course, discovering Friday that I won two contests (one at Pickled Beef and one at Bookwyrm Knits) certainly contributed to my recovery. 🙂

Speaking of contests, don’t forget about Chaos’s birthday contest, which closes at 6 pm CDT today!

Valerie and Donna are knitting a blanket for their friend Michele, who is going through radiation treatment. If you’d like to contribute a 9″ square knit from fingering weight sock yarn, they would really appreciate it.

Do you remember my little flamingo houseplant “lawn” ornament (bottom of the linked post)? Hmm. This is mysterious. I wonder where that flamingo’s wandered off to?

Hmm. Curiouser and curiouser. Perhaps a suicide attempt?

Or maybe not…

  1. Deat Chaos and Mayhem’s Mom,
Did you not notice the flamingo has legs? Obviously he walked away under his own power. Really. We are sure of it. Cough. Cough.

  2. I’m glad that you are feeling better. Those pink flamingos can be quite wiley, it’s a good thing you have to guard kitties to keep you safe.

  3. My kitties saw the picture and started muttering something about “migratory gardening friends.” Then they coughed lightly and walked away. We’ve had several incidences here too.

  4. It’s not unusual to have flamingo-based hallucinations before, during, and after a migraine. Trust me. There is no flamingo. How clever of you to have a camera that can photograph hallucinations!

    (Glad you’re feeling better)

  5. hahahaha.. suicide by flamingo… hahahaha…
May probably thought it was chocolate; either that or all the fuzzy red mice are under the frig again, and she’s gotten desperate.

  6. 2 contests?! Lucky you. Glad to hear you’ve recovered — migraines are bad news.

I love the tiny flamingo! My mom has a tendency to hide little red cardinals in her houseplants during the winter.

  7. They were just trying to “help” the flamingo be “free.” It told May that it wanted to experience carpeting.

    Glad you are feeling better.

  8. I’m sure the flamingo walked out on his own. They’re like that, you know. 😉 Congrats on winning the contests and feeling better!

  9. At our house seeing that would elicit a string like this “Samantha Johanna Elizbeth Mary Margaret Luisa Jane Eleanor……” The more names you use, the angrier you are at what she has stolen!!

    Glad you’re feeling better!

  10. The power of good drugs and sleep cannot be underappreciated. So glad you are feeling better now.

May just has a thing for pink, especially pink birds! Either that, or it was her way of asking for time with the feather toy 🙂

  11. Glad that ‘your grain’ is feeling better. Maybe Mayhem thought the crazy pink color started the ‘your grain’. She’s just looking out for you by removing it.
